by sandysmith
These beautiful italinate terraced and woodland garden are set in the hills of Snowdonia. Edward Milner helped with the design, establishing a link with Joseph Paxton and JC Loudon. The colours really are spectacular with the array of camelias, rhodendrons, and azaleas especially.

The tree planting began in the 1790's and the first Lord Aberconway's father-in-law bought the estate in 1875 - he started the Dell garden and planted the renowned laburnum arch. The house - Bodnant Hall - is not open to visitors but really the gardens will keep you occupied enough with their beauty.
