Hi
www.skyscanner.net is always a good starting point when searching for cheap flights.
I've just had a quick look and Flybe have direct flights between Cardiff and Paris CDG.
Hope you find what you're looking for!

Flybe are the only budget carriers for this route, as far as I can see. www.whichbudget.com lists all budget carriers & their destinations within Europe; I find it very useful.

Thanx to both of you for your help. Flybe have flights from Cardiff to Paris but I can't book any flight yet for May 24/2008. I'm curious as to how soon they can give me a booking for May 2008. I'd like to get travel arrangements in place ASAP.

They won't upload the timetables for a while yet (don't know exactly when). It's the same for most airlines, I think; a summer and winter timetable. Summer 2007 was released at the end of last November, so keep your eye on the site over the next few weeks.

Hi again,
As leics says, the summer timetable should be released in the next month or so.
To be given advanced warning of when this will be, you can sign up for the airline's official newsletter here:
http://www.flybe.com/en/subscribe/
You'll usually find that there are various special offers to coincide with the launch of a new flight schedule.
Good luck!

There's another option - Easyjet fly Bristol to Paris. If you book early they tend to be cheaper than Flybe
In fact although I live in Cardiff I fly out of Bristol quite regularly.
You can get a through ticket from Cardiff Central rail station to Bristol International Airport (often at really good prices). You have to switch to a bus at Bristol but it's right outside the station, you don't even have to step off the pavement.
Not on sale yet but no doubt coming soon - see www.easyjet.co.uk
Travel Tips for Cardiff

Well, after negotiating our way out of London and onto the M4 (after a couple of side trips...oops...I wasn't navigating...promise)and negotiating heavy traffic, after about 3 hours we arrived in Cardiff. The first thing that struck me was the amazing amount of beautiful buildings...it truly is a beautiful city...but best of all, an absolute must is Cardiff Castle...or in Welsh - Castel Caerdyd. Dating back nearly 2000 years the castle is located right in the middle of town...not far at all from the Millennium Stadium. Can't miss it!
Siarad Cymraeg?

One very important thing that defines Wales is its own language - Welsh/Cymraeg - which has increased massively in popularity over recent decades. Not that you will hear it spoken much in Cardiff, where the massive English speaking population dwarfs the Welsh speaking minority. You have to head West or North to find the real Welsh speaking heartlands.
However, there is a Welsh TV Channel, S4C, and the Welsh Language Act requires many things to be translated into Welsh. Cardiff is a big media city - if you want to hear Welsh spoken then head for some of the pubs off Cathedral Road, which is near to the BBC/S4C studios! The Y-Mochyn-Du has regular Welsh speaking nights advertised.
A lot of staff at the tourist attractions (such as the Museum of Welsh Life, or Castell Coch) will be required to speak the language. If you feel adventurous, the Welsh for thankyou is Diolch (pronounced 'dyolk').
Iechydd Da ('yekid ah') is the equivalent of Cheers/Santé/Prost and literally means 'Good Health'.
And for toilets, 'Dynion' is the Men, whilst 'Merched' is Ladies!!
If you want to pronounce the double-L sound (as in Llandaff, or Llanelli), its a bit like the English 'cl' (as in clown) but with your tongue firmly placed behind your top front two teeth!!
International Rugby at the Millennium Stadium

I've just seen my first Six Nations featuring a rampant Wales comprehensively beating Scotland 23-10...
The atmosphere here in Cardiff was absolutely electric, with the entire city seemingly turning to cheer the national team on!
One of the best things here is the carnival atmosphere as the whole city centre is closed to cars turning the area around the stadium into one giant street party of red and blue as the Welsh and Scottish supporters mixed for some good natured drinking before making their way to the big game.
It was brilliant seeing the jovial Scots fans in their kilts having a great time without having to worry about any violence as they might if this was a football match - indeed even in the stadium the fans were mixed without any segregation, which would be unheard of in a game of football...
The stadium itself was a perfect venue for the game with a capacity crowd in full singing voice!
The result was a great one as only last year Wales were lifting the wooden spoon at the end of the previous campaign, so it was important to start the new one on the right footing!
I had to feel sorry for the Scots as they also badly lost the friendly football game played here only a few days later... Warm clothing, a Wales Rugby shirt and a decent camera... :-)

Outside Cardiff in The Vale of Glamorgan there are a host of small villages some of which still maintain there charm of yesteryear. Get a bus from the city centre to Cardiff airport, ask for directions to Penmark and go to the Six Bells Pub. The locals are always good for a laugh and are sure to make you welcome.
Brecon Beacons......A breath of Fresh air
by percy961
The Park covers some 519 square miles, over half of which is 1,000 ft above sea level. Brecon Beacons National Park is one of three ' Parks ' in Wales, each one a special place and the Brecon Beacons is no exception. With beauty being in the eye of the beholder, here in this 'Park' there is such a variation of scenic beauty; that there is something to suit all eyes.
