More about Roxbro House
Loved the view
I really enjoyed staying at Roxbro House. The rooms are beautiful with plenty of room, the view of the castle outside our window was fantastic. We were well looked after and they serve a fantastic breakfast. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at Roxbro House if visiting the northumberland area.
Roxbro House Excellence.
Have just returned from a second weekend break at Roxbro House and cannot praise this quality B&B highly enough.
A genuine warm welcome is extended to guests, the standard of furnishing & decoration is extremely high, the rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable and an excellent breakfast is offered with a broad menu option.
Located in a quiet corner of the village below the imposing castle, private parking is available - a 500m stroll into the village centre offers a range of pubs and restaurants.
Warkworth village is a very attractive, historical and compact setting being excellently positioned from which to explore the area.
Roxbro House provides a quiet, and cosy,no hassle quality - we 'll be returning!!
Class, class and more class
Having stayed at Roxbro House at least 5 times I can say that the quality of everything is first class. The rooms are beautiful, the service is second to none whilst being unintrusive, the choice for breakfast and the accommodation is more like a premier boutique hotel than a B&B. One would find it difficult to better this establishment. The village is beautiful with lots of walks in the vacinity and by the wier I have spotted a heron on more than one visit. The beach is also a good place to walk.
Claire made us feel very welcome during our stay, knowing when to talk to her guests and letting them have privacy. The b&b is in a fantastic location in this charming village, our room overlooked the castle. It was definitely larger than most double bedrooms with room for a comfy sofa and was also spotlessly clean. A lovely touch was returning to fresh biscuits in the barrel after we had greedily eaten the first batch! And good to see hot chocolate for us non coffee and tea drinkers! The choice at breakfast was fantastic, good to have such a wide and varied menu as you don't always want a full english - the kippers were gorgeous, as was everything else! Excellent selection of dvds was good for the cold nights. Whenever we next journey to this area we will definitely return and I cannot recommend it highly enough - Claire does a fantastic job. Thank you.
Not Enough Time
'To much to see and not enough time to see it '.
Anyone travelling to Northumberland for the first time and those returning, would be well advised to make this their base. A beautifully kept Guest house in a great setting with a charming hostess, highly recommened.
Mr. & Mrs. E.Butler
What a lovely place to stay, enjoyed everything about it, all the reviews are spot on and its hard to find any more praise to give this great bed and breakfast. we will return as soon as we can to have a better look around the area.
Roxbro truly Rocks!
I am a dubious person at heart, so having seen the stellar reviews for Roxbro I was keen to try out the experience first hand. The cynic in me has well and truly been banished. From the pure indulgence of the bedrooms to the superlative breakfasts, Roxbro leaves the rest of Alnwick hospitality standing in its wake.
The owner Claire made us feel wonderfully welcome but also respected our privacy, so at no time did we feel suffocated. By the end of the second night I truly felt as if Roxbro was an extended home.
The village of Warkworth is a delight, with Alnwick within a stones throw. For visitors new to the North East I would also strongly recommend a visit to Alnmouth (beautiful little seaside hamlet tucked within a small jetty) and Bamburgh for the sheer majesty of the overlooking castle.
We will certainly be heading back to this beautifully situated and impeccably maintained B&B - bravo Roxbro!
The most comfortable B&B in the world
Easily the most comfortable bed in the world! Overlooked by the castle laced in daffodills, we loved it before we even entered the beautiful stone house. An enticing lounge with an open fire and clean, homely and welcoming staircase led us up to our room. Light, airey with an amazing view of the castle. A bed to die for and and a carefully selected stash of yummy drinks made our first night lovely. Breakfast was delicious and the owner Claire was welcoming and helpful. Great personal touches with the highest of standards - already looking for a date to return!
Perfect..more than a B&B
The best B&B we have ever stayed in....what a fabulous place. Claire the owner has made sure that you want for nothing. From the moment you step inside her lovely home you are made more than welcome. The bedrooms are fabulous with such attention to detail, from the feather pillows to the comfiest bed ever. The sitting room and breakfast room are so homely and inviting. Claire also cooks a wonderful breakfast, a real treat not to be missed and what a great choice. Warkworth is a perfect place to stay, lovely walks around the village, close to both the river and sea, gorgeous little gift shops, fab pub food and even a small restaurant close by. All in all the best place to stay and discover Northumberland and its wonderful coastline.
A New Level
A most amazing and friendly place to stay that takes B&B's to a new level. From the first welcome to the room to the Fantastic Breakfasts the quality is so high its four star hotel level.
