Langdon Court Hotel: Country House Living

OK I'm actually working here at the moment, staying in an hotel room, but I think that I can give a relatively unbiased opinion on the hotel in general - so here it is:

This is a classy country house style hotel with real character, both as a building (with its gardens and grounds) and with tastefully interesting fittings. This a place to relax and get away from it all, although Plymouth is about a 15 minute drive if you need to go to the proletarian metropolis.

Rooms are a little varied, some more elaborate than others, but are all well kept and tasefully furnished with touches of both modern and medieval - and that's just the plumbing!!!

Unique Quality: The out of the way location makes for an ideal getaway; quiet and tranquil - local footpaths radiate in 3 directions, east and west along the South Coast and inland towards Dartmoor (The 4th direction requires a swim!!).

Country house service is the aspiration, without the formality, borrowing a bicycle, an umbrella or even a pair of wellies - no problem. A useful modern touch is internet access throughout, wired in rooms and wifi in public areas.

Not cheap but qualitative!
