Hilton St Anne's Manor Hotel Bracknell
London Road, Wokingham, Berkshire, RG40 1ST, United Kingdom
Typical Hilton with high quality service/bar and delicious carvery on a Saturday night.
Unique Quality: This is a Hilton with a really nice feel about it, its set in the middle of a forest so you really feel cut off from the world - the restaurant conservatory area makes it feel like you could be in a French Bistro and its really rather pleasant for a chain hotel!
Directions: drive out of Wokingham towards bracknell and its last on the right before the roundabout joining the M4

Great stay but a little high priced
Hilton St. Anne's Manor is a country (house) hotel set on 25 acres. They have a heated pool, Health club and sauna/steamroom. The hotel was well located. Hilton St. Anne's Manor is 15 minutes from Reading and 30 minutes from Heathrow airport. The elevator (lift) was not operational for the week we were there; I was glad to be on the 1st floor. In the bar area, the wood floor needs a little work. Parking was free. The hotel is within walking distance of other (cheaper) places to eat. The train station is about a 5 to 10 minute drive. This was a great stay but a high little priced but that is true anywhere in the UK. On a scale of 0 to 5 this was a 4.8.
We attempted to book one night at this hotel using our Hilton Honours points and it all went rather wrong. Our booking confirmation showed we had a reservation at the Hilton Bracknell which is a different hotel. We couldn't use points at St Annes Manor so booked by credit card and cancelled the Bracknell reservation. Upon arrival at St Annes there were two wedding receptions taking place so we expected the hotel to be busy. Upon checking in we were told that we had a reservation at Bracknell and central reservations had cancelled the St Annes booking!! As there were two weddings there we thought we would have no chance of them having a room. The guy on reception was superb, he said not to worry, we would have a lovely stay and he upgraded us to a deluxe room in a seperate wing of the hotel. The room was quiet, well furnished and the bed was one of the most comfy I have slept in. A half bottle of wine was waiting in the room for us. We had a small balcony overlooking woodland and the room had air con if needed. His attitude to service was spread across all staff at the hotel. They were friendly, extremely helpful and breakfast service was excellent. We were asked several times if everything was OK in a very genuine way. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and a five minute or so walk takes you to a pub/restaraunt called the Plough which serves great food at good prices. The hotel also has a great indoor poool and leisure facilities. This hotel is a good spot for visiting Windsor Castle and Windsor Great Park. It's about 15 miles by motorway up the M4 but doesn't have the constant flow of jumbo jets flying low overhead into Heathrow that you experience at Windsor. We had a great time, what could have been a disaster was turned into a really nice stay by the staff at this hotel. For a chain hotel they retained that very personal 'family' feel to this place. We will definately go back for a longer stay. Well done to the staff at Hilton St Annes!!
this hotel sucks!!
stayed @ this hotel for two nights. arrived sunday evening around 10:30pm. checked in told no upgrade available (gold member..no biggie). given a non smoking room even though i requested as smoking on the reservation and when asked upon checking in when asked by the lady. went back to the front desk got a smoking room, went back AGAIN to the front desk key card did not work, swapped all is well. i was given a club room but don't let that mean a thing!
bathroom was SICK, cracks in the ceilings and in the bedroom ceilings. room just looked old knackered and really old school. it really smelt like a smoking room ( yes i know its a smoking room). opening the window resolved the issue. a trick i think the hotel could gain from doing...
now food!! went to the bar told there was no food this is only @ 11:30pm . room service finished @ 11pm. nothing around except in wokingham which is a ten min drive.
breakfast was nice usual buffet, cooked eggs etc. didnt have a meal other than breakfast @ the hotel. ate @ a really nice indian/bengali restaurant called Baranda in Wokingham .
gym was small but fit the purpose
on check out told them how disgusting my room was and the lady smiled (like it was not the first time she had heard that comment) and said yes we know and will be renovating soon..... if you can stay @ the other Hilton in Bracknell which is not far from this one. you may enjoy yourself more...
4 stars. You must be joking
This a thoroughly unpleasant hotel. I have used the hotel on a number of occasions this year and can only say how grateful I was that I was not picking up the bill. I have seen the front desk telephones having to be answered by members of the public at 6am as the night staff are nowhere to be found, and they the queue to get into the so-called health club.
The Health club itself should carry a health warning. It is filthy and the staff are devoid of any interest or concern about the situation, right up to and including the manager who is appropriately called "Manuel".
The room are small and furnished in beige chintz. Indeed the only colour comes from the myriad of paper advertisements scattered around the room. These pedal anything from breakfast in bed (don’t it was cold and took 35 minutes) to whats on on CNN and the adult only channles. Then having fought your way through all this paper you will encounter the now ubiquitous bit of paper which states “ for the sake of the environment” please reuse your towels and we will only change your bed 3 times a week….and all this for a staggering £249 a night.
You would truly have to have very low expectations or limited exposure to other hotels to find the Hilton St Ann's Manor anything more than an upmarket Travelodge…I take that back Travelodge is better.
Great base for touring
We stayed here on a 2 night break including dinner on the first night and breakfast both days and found it to be excellent. As frequent Hilton guests we have now enjoyed their hospitality at many hotels and found this one to be of the same standard as w have become accustomed. The room was delightful and on the ground floor, bigger than we had at Warwick the previous night. Same fantastic Hilton bed and a larger bathroom. Dinner was delicious and was from a Table D'hote menu. Breakfast was the usual Hilton buffet and also delicious. In my opinion this is another highly recommended hotel from the Hilton chain.
