by Cielo_Algaeed We stayed for 5 days in Golden City Plaza. About 20 minutes drive to reach Manama City Center. Bit hard to locate if it would be your first trip to Bahrain. The apartment itself is very nice...2 big rooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, dining room & kitchen. Other amenities like television with satellite dish, gas range, washing machine, refrigerator, plates, glasses etc are all provided. Though they provide towels, it is more hygienic to bring your own. Grocery, retsaurants and hospital are just nearby. Theme: OtherComparison: about averageAddress: Bldg 885 Rd 3316 Block 333 Mahooz Kingdom of Bahrain

For accommodation, there are various choices. From shared one bedroom flat (50-100 BD), to a small medium-class 1-2 bedrooms fully furnished apartment (150-250 BD), to a bigger/luxury apartment/villa (300 and up). All depends on the location though. Near city center, business district, or specific residential areas would be more expensive. Saar/Budaiya area is common for European expatriates and more green. Juffair area has many high rise and/or luxury apartments, nearby US naval base. Hoora area has middle class apartments and close to entertainment/nightlife area (Exhibition Road). Around Manama city center area has many cheaper apartments/flats/shared flats. It's common to pay first 3 months in advance, while others charge for a deposit (e.g. 100 BD for mid class apartment). The deposit then can be collected when you end your contract (with notice period). Check also if your monthly payment is inclusive or exclusive of municipal tax, electricity, and water (normal usage about 10-20 BD per month for mid class apartment). Theme: Other

This big parallelepiped is located near the city centre and the living part of Manama; no surprises, with accommodation and a quite friendly staff; bar on the first floor where it seems easy to make some new “friends” (not only the usual Asiatic or Russian ladies, also drinking friends), but the beer is OK.
If on business trip, I can recommend this hotel for its very convenient location. Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: KING FAISAL HIGHWAY MANAMA, BAHRAINPhone: 973-17227777Directions: Near the souk north shore of the Island

Great hotel with large clean rooms, great service and friendly people. Owned by Gulf Air. Nice pub downstairs (Sherlock's) with a live band just about everynight (except during Ramadan). They've got something like 7 restaurants, of which the couple that I've eaten at are very good, but somewhat expensive. This hotel is located a bit outside the city , near the Museum; I stayed there on a business trip and it was good for it; at the lobby level is a quite noisy bar where a Filipino band performs every night; another bar on a side wing is dedicated to sports (on TV) where you can have a good choice of beers. Like most of these 4-5 star hotels, it is a bit gloomy and there are no surprises.
All usual facilities for business hotels. Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: KING FAISAL HWY MANAMA, 5831 BAHRAINPhone: 973-17-53112Directions: North East

First time I arrived in Bahrain, I lived in this 9 floors hotel for 15 days. The rate is not very expensive for spacious hotel rooms. One thing that disturbed me very much is every night or early morning, there were always phone calls to the room asking for lady companion, police, etc. I just plugged off the phone cable in the bed room for nice sleep ;)
Very spacious rooms like suite/apartment with fully equiped kitchen, bathroom with bath tub, and living room with sofas and dining table. Situated in Diplomatic area (a business area), it's not too far from city center and leisure places (cafes, bars, restaurants) in Exhibition Road. by MM212 The Intercontinental Hotel provides adequate service with full amenities. The hotel, however, is in need of renovation. The lobby and room furniture seem somewhat old and reminiscent of the '80s, and, to me, the building itself looks like a prison (see photo)! This hotel is a good alternative when the Ritz Carlton is fully booked.
Adequate gym and outdoor pool are available. A lively bar with live music is available on the mezzanine level. The hotel is very close to the Manama souk and the business district. Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Government Avenue
