Local Woman selling snacks on the beach at Batumi by Groverdean We paid 15USD per night for 2 persons for 3 nights, so a good deal. We had a shower and toilet in our room and also a good view! No food with this one, although there is an restaurant area downstairs. There are cheaper rooms. The Hotel is quite central. The Hotel Iliko is one of the cheapest places to stay in Batumi town centre...not the cheapest, but I didn't fancy sleeping at the place mentioned in my guidebook which looked as if the roof had caved in. Anyway, the family that runs the Iliko is friendly enough, even though they don't speak anything but Georgian and Russian, and a bit of Turkish. The barber next door is Turkish, so if you can get by in that language, it might be worth asking for his help! The hotel is basically an extended house, with about ten rooms, some with en suite bathrooms (don't get too excited...my shower looked like a torture contraption, what with all the electric wires hanging down!), others sharing a sink and a none-too-clean toilet at the end of the corridor. If you can afford the extra 5 lari, go for one of the en-suite ones. 15 Lari per room (two beds), or 20 lari for a room with a bathroom. (June 2005 US$1 = 1.82 Lari)
The entrance is a bit daunting, especially if you arrive expecting something resembling a hotel...go through the archway, duck under the washing line trying not to snare your backpack on Mrs Iliko's freshly laundered underwear, and take the door on the right. For a hotel in a beach resort, I found it odd that everyone seemed totally bewildered when I first arrived...they looked at me as if I had two heads, and for a moment or three I thought I'd perhaps got the wrong house! A few phrases of Georgian goes a long way here... Horthensias by MalenaN In Batumi I stayed at Hotel Sputnik. It is not in the centre of town, but on a hill outside. It is highly recommended though and it easy to take the marshrutka 126from just outside the hotel to the town. If you have been doing a lot of sight-seeing and been staying at very cheap places for some weeks it is also nice just to stay at the hotel or in the surroundings. The rooms are clean with spotless bathrooms, a balcony and TV. I didn't bother to go out to see the sunset over the Black Sea as I was comfortably lying on my bed watching the BBC news. The hotel is situated on a green hill and in the end of June there was a lot of Horthensias blooming. The service is excellent. I asked for the address to a doctor (for my cough) and they took me for free in the hotel car to the doctor (5 lari) and to two different pharmacies (medicine 3,55 lari). Where the marshruthas stop there is a small store selling water, snacks etc. There is also a restaurant. The khachapuri I couldn't eat I got in a doggy-bag to eat later. I can't remember the price but it was not too expensive. Theme: Hotel

If one wants to look for cheap hotel options this one is generally a good option. I paid GEL 40 (At exchange rate of USD 1 - 1.55 GEL). The hotel had a TV with a lot of channels and ok bad and toilette facilities. Among deficiencies can be named a rail link few meters away and thin walls. In general one of the best option for available price. Theme: HotelPrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Tsereteli Ave.

It was my first time travelling to Batumi and directly I asked to taxi driver where I can find a hotel with middle quality in central Batumi area? The elder driver said: You are Turkish and stay with your own.I will take you to one which is owned by Turks. Its Elana Hotel near by Gamsakhurdia kuchas on Sulakashvili street ( cant remember that name of street exactly which starts with Sula........ ).Owner is Yusuf who is Turkish citizen.Nice hotel and rooms are very clean which I was not expecting from a Turk. Rate for one night is 50 lari and they also have a small place with Turkish restaurant and Turkish bar. All workers and Mr.Yusuf is very nice to anyone.Restaurant and bar place is safe enough for any place in all over Georgia because they rented a retired police as a security and I didnt see any drunk people or fight inside.
All rooms has TV,the receptionist guy Murad who is Georgian is very friendly.Hotel located in a good area where you can find anything you want.If you are like me who usually travel for business than you can try this hotel to stay. It's only 10 Tetri for a dorm bed; 3 in a room. Not too clean but not too bad. I tried the Hotel Boni, which I heard was $13, but it was 40 tetri.

To describe my stay here in one word: interesting. One has to walk through a kind of alleyway to reach the place. Staff speaks no English at all, so some basic Russian is helpful here. But one of the men working there didn't even speak that... The room itself was decent, no complaints, save for a rather unsightly pothole hidden under a rug. For 30 lari a night, I guess it wasn't too bad. I just had a horrendous night (see Warnings and Dangers section) that particular evening, so it's hard for me to associate positively with this place. Be smart in Bat'umi. This hotel works just fine as an accomodation.
There isn't really anything special about this place other than the fact that it's pretty close to the beach. In terms of price and the service I think L-Bakuri is the best. The room prices range from GEL 40 to Gel 120. It is quite OK and usually my no.1 choice when in Batumi
