unknown: Where to find accomodation

The place I stayed was near Beit ol-Moqaddas Square on the SW side of the shrine complex. There seem to be thousands of hotels in the city. Not all will take foreigners and many cheaper ones (like mine) didn’t have signs in English (which is why I can’t remember the name!)

Mashhad hotel: Overrated

Sure Mashhad hotel is a bit nicer than other hotels in budget class, but 30 dollar for a double room doesn't give you much. The entrance is a little fancier. Breakfast is charged 250 toman per guest which is great.

  • Opinion of Price: more expensive than average

Quds hostel: Budget hotels

Close to the shrine there are LOTS of hotels to choose from. This "mehmanpazir" on Khestraw-e noh street, leading northwest from Emam Reza street had clean, simple twin rooms for 7,000 toman. Walking from the hotel towards the shrine there are lots of other places to have breakfast at for about 450 toman depending on what you are having.

Not to be confused with the more expensive Hotel Quds on the same street.
