Abbasi Hotel by iwys The beautiful, 5* Abbasi Hotel is the best in Isfahan and the nicest I saw in Iran. No expense was spared in restoring this 300-year-old caravanserai. The restaurant is good and it's very pleasant to drink tea in the garden in the late afternoon. Room rates range from $80 for a Standard Single room to $300 for a Royal Apartment.
The shops inside the hotel have some high-quality arts and crafts at quite reasonable prices. I bought a 55-year-old Isfahani carpet for no more than I'd have paid in the bazaar. My room at Aria Hotel by MalenaN I have heard that Aria Hotel is now closed, but I don't know if it is for good or just for resauration. In Esfahan I stayed at Aria Hotel, which was recommended. It was a nice place, but nothing special. The room was comfortable with two beds, air-condition a fridge and a TV. In many hotels where I stayed in Iran the picture on the TV was not very clear, but at Aria the picture was good and I watched the World Cup Final between France and Italy (even though I’m not very interested in football). In the bathroom there was a bath (with shower). At a first glance the room looked very clean, but at a closer look there was for example hair in the bed (as in many hotels in Iran). As I arrived they were cleaning the room and changing sheets. But it looked like they had only changed the upper sheets in the beds (I might be wrong). Breakfast is included in the price and consists of tea and bread with jam, butter and cheese. For the room I paid IR 135 000 a night (July 2006). As I checked out I forgot to ask for my passport (at some hotels you don’t leave it in the reception and I forgot I had done so in Aria Hotel). And they didn’t hand it over to me. Not until I was in Kashan I realised the passport was still in Esfahan. They called Aria from the hotel in Kashan and my passport was sent with the next bus to Kashan. The journey for the passport was more expensive than mine, but it was a good service. Theme: HotelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterAddress: Shahid StreetPhone: 222 7224

Suite decoration by TheWanderingCamel This is a hotel to dazzle the eye. A magnificently restored 17th century caravanserai, set around a most beautiful garden. There ia a large restaurant,a 24 hour coffeeshop and a delightful teahouse in the garden. Prices in the usual array of hotel shops are good, the service was charming and I would certainly recommend you spoil yourself and stay here when you visit Esfahan.
The foyers and restaurant are exquisitely decorated with frescoes and delicately traced patterns in a style beloved of Iranians. The standard rooms are large and comfortable, if a little gloomy, and there are lovely suites furnished in traditional style with rugs and low floor cushions in the salon as well as in more conventional Western style. leyle Theme: HotelPrice: US$80-120 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Amadegah Ave, EsfahanDirections: The hotel is very central to nearly all the places of interest in Esfahan and everybody knows where it is.Website: www.abbasihotel.com

Esfahan has loads of options but this one is 'the' budget backpackers place in the city and your best chance of meeting travellers and overlanders making for some good stories and up to date information. It is really cheap and the local owners are fountains of information. Good fun and great location. (PS for location look in the Lonely Planet Guide, I believe it is there but I stayed on a recommendation)

Close to the Amir Kabir, the family run places is a great place to chill out after sightseeing for the day. The rooms are clean and have a bathroom and TV. You can even call home for 3000 IR a minute making it one of the best places to call home. Bargain hard and they will discount.

Abbasi Hotel by azadeh If you do not stay in Abbassi hotel go and visit it ,Don't be fooled by the ordinary appearance of the hotel on the street, inside is beautiful. The oasis you see here is the courtyard garden, with the teahouse in the back. Theme: Hotel

Dibai House hotel in Isfahan by thinkpinkibz Well, I had a wonderful stay at Dibai House. It's a historic house built in the 17th century, restored and transformed in a very nice and cosy hotel. It has modern facilities and so its very comfortable. The people at Dibai were very friendly with me. I travelled through Iran on my own so it was very nice to stay in a place where you could really feel cared for, plus they speak Spanish too! (in addition to English and French). Very good and healthy breakfast, with home-made marmalades, freshly baked bread (from the local bakery) and fresh fruit. Anyways, I really do recommend Dibai House for anyone travelling to one of the most beautiful cities in the world, i.e. Isfahan
Dibai House has an excellent location in Harunie, at the centre of the Old Town, so you'd be close everything you'd want to visit: Imam Square, Jame Mosque, museums, Chehel Sotun, Bazzar, etc. The house is historic, as I mentioned above, so the building and the experience in itself is worth the stay. One of the suites. by allouc Restored caravan serai. One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed in. Rooms could have been better and so could have been the service. Ask for the tour of the hotel and you will be amazed.
I guess if the Queen of England stayed there it must be good... Theme: HotelComparison: most expensiveDirections: 10 minutes walk from Imam Square.
