This private (i.e. not state-owned) hotel has lower prices for foreigners as many of it's stately run counterparts. The location is just simply perfect, much of the rooms offer a great view to the river with the old bridge. The interior is a mixture of classic (lobby), the 70'ies (restaurant) and modern designes (rooms), but in general it seems clean and well kept. The English-speaking staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is generous. Internet available in the lobby. Air-con is obvious. We payed 60 euros for a double bed with breakfast /night/room in August 2007. No reservation was necessary, we just walked in.

Unique Quality: As said, great view and location, balcony, pool, porter, modern rooms, sat-TV (BBC, CNN, ARD, Vox-CH, TV5monde). Despite the very central location the room is quiet
