A few things about akko
The city of akko is not a very big city.
There are something like 45000 citizens and there are 75% Jews and the rest are Arabs (most of them are muslims).
The old town of Akko is a world heritage site since 2001 by Unesco.

Akko is basicaly a very old city and its another prove for how people from all religions can live together.
Most of the population of Akko is Jewish & Arabs and a minority of Christians.
Thats one of the reasons that i like this place, even just to see how well everyone can live together.
One of the structures in the old city is the "Khan". An interesting structure built around a central courtyard. The entire building is two storied with covered "porches" which run completely around the inside of the structure.

Akko is very old city since the biblical time. It passed a lot during thousands years and has a lot of history to find out here, so if you are visiting the north part of Israel, go to visit Akko too, you will not regret it. Well, as you can see from my rusty photos, it has been very long time since I was here, so there are no fondest memories either, but you can check this official web site, choose your language and you will find a great recourse of information.
