The cemetary
Take a walk through the history of the settlement through its cemetary...it was built on a hillside so as not to interfere with the agriculture around which the village was founded. Each time we visit we can see it climbing higher.

We will be in Israel in June, and are looking into the spa in Rosh Pina called Mitzpe Hayamim. Has anyone stayed there? It seems expensive but it will be our treat. Is it accessible to Golan and Sea of Galilee?
Thank You
Sharon
Mitzpe Hayamim is definitely considered as one of the best in Israel...
If you're renting a car then its pretty close to the sea of galilee (probably around 20-30min' drive and to the Golan heights area (aprx the same or a bit more). http://www.mizpe-hayamim.com/map_en.htm

Rosh Pina is a popular place among contemporary Israelis who love to spend a weekend in this cool mountain area here. Established in 1882 by Romanian Jews who emigrated to the area, Rosh Pina was the first settlement in the Galilee, which makes it a source of Israeli pride. The cobblestone streets and charming, renovated houses that hug the cliffs are what give this area a distinctive feel. It's an attractive spot for a meal, romantic dinner, or just a drink.
Easy to get to Rosh Pinna from the town of Tiberias (about a 20 minute drive northwest).
Rosh Pina is a small settlement found just off Highway 90 going north from the Sea of Galilee toward Kiryat Shemona...today it is has many elements of an artists colony. You can find along the cobbled streets of the upper town many small artist shops.
Rosh Pina is very close to the ancient town of Zefat (or Safed), this is the view you have of Rosh Pina as you approach from Zefat. The hills in the background are the beginnings of the Golan Heights.
"The stone which the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone."
(Psalms 118:22)
In 1878, Gai Oni, the first modern Jewish settlement in the Galilee, was founded. After enduring three years of drought, the settlers abandoned it. A few years later, in 1882, a group of Romanian Jews succeeded in building a lasting Jewish settlement north of Safed. They named it Rosh Pinna, the Hebrew word for "cornerstone."
A charming spot, on the north of Israel. The historic centre of Rosh Pinna was renovated and is now a perfect place to stroll, enjoy a good meal, some coffee, watch the local craftmen (and craftwomen) at work and maybe buy some souvenirs...

Q: getting around "did you drive yourself in this area and how difficult is it to get around the north ?"
A: "Very easy driving, good roads and well signposted - in English as well. All you need is a good road map to get to wherever you want to go."
