Kfar Nahum - The Greek Orthodox church
by Sharon
This Greek Church is located near Capernaum (Kfar Nahum), which is the lakeside town where (according to christianity) Jesus was preaching and his disciples, Peter & Andrew used to live. Its also believed that this is where Jesus has told his followers "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men."
The story says that Jesus spent here 3 years and has made many miracles, but he was rejected by the town's people.
Sea of Galilee, a refreshing.
by Grazina
The main harbor of the Sea of Galilee is in the city of Tiberias. Fresh water springs from the slopes of Mt. Hermon in the north flow into the Jordan River which then fills the lake.
The sea is about 8 miles wide and 13 miles long. Its hebrew name, Kinneret comes form the word for harp, which is the shape of the sea. In the Gospels it is called by various names such as "Gennesaret", "Sea of Tiberias", and of course the Sea of Galilee. It's a good thing that I work on boats a Wahweap, I have my sea legs.
Want to hear a story? Will, I tell you one anyways. This lady (I won't tell you her name), Is from the same state that I'm from Arizona. She lives near the Apache Reservation, which is about 5 hours from where I live. We first met on the Airplane in Kansas, her seating arrangement was next to me, so we got to talking and I find out that her babysitter that is watching her little ones while she's on this trip is Scott Stair someone from Page AZ, not only that plus we went to Bible college together. Wow!! What a small world and getting small everyday. So the whole time there we just hung out.
