Not a very good hotel. All I can recommend is the breakfast. The staff is not very helpful and the hotel is pretty far out of the way.

On Jaffa Street

This is a typical 3 star tourist hotel accommodating its guests with basic amenities, a decent location, some comfort, at (for Jerusalem) reasonable rates. My adapted room could have used some makeover, there was no roll-in shower, just a bathtub which I made barely accessible with the bath board I had brought from home. The accessible entrance is from the backyard parking lot, very steep ramp, almost impossible to negotiate (hotel staff was quick to give a push though). Good breakfast buffet.

The old town is about 2 kms downhill Jaffa Street. Guests arriving by car should be aware that Jaffa Street is closed for individual traffic -- the parking lot is accessed from the intersecting Strauss St. The new Jerusalem tram route will run quite close. As it is being built at the moment, there might be noise and obstructions from the construction site.

On arrival at the hotel all we wanted was a cold shower and rest but unfortunately we discovered that the shower head was broken and we had to wait until replacement arrived. But this was not the last of serious malfunctions, breakfasts were disappointing, mildly stated, with food and drinks that couldn’t be identified. Also we discovered to our surprise that the swimming pool will be closed all day long. The biggest disappointment we experienced was the day we left the hotel, we woke up, my wife and our son early to enjoy the swimming pool which was supposed to open at 10. We showed up at the appointed time, but the pool door was locked, after waiting a few minutes I went to our room and called the reception and was told that "the guy is probably in the toilet and will arrive shortly" ... After waiting 15 min’ I personally went down to the lobby and brought it to the attention of the hotel staff but was treated in a derogatory way by the staff. Beyond the humiliation, disappointment and waste of time we were also dismissed by the hotel staff. Save yourself the heartbreak and find a different hotel to stay in while visiting Jerusalem.
