transportation from Tulip Inn to Malha Mall

by Twinkerbelle

How far is Malha Mall or Kenon Mall from Tulip Inn Hotel? What transportation can I use?

Re: transportation from Tulip Inn to Malha Mall

Hello,

The Tulip Inn is located in East Jerusalem, near Damascus Gate. The Malha Mall is in the new city, in the south-western part of Jerusalem. By car you can make it in about 20 minutes, but by bus it will be about an hour: there is no direct bus; you can take bus no. 1 and then change to 18, this long journey will take you all around the city. If you don't mind walking, you can walk up the road along the Old City wall to Jaffa Street (near the Jerusalem City Hall on Safra Square) and take bus no. 18 .from there

Have a good trip,
Ilan

The stop for bus no. 18 in the direction of the Malcha Mall (btw "kenyon" means mall) is not on Jaffa Rd. - you have to walk another block past Jaffa Road to Shlomzion Ha-Malka for the stop to the Mall.

Your other option is take bus no. 6 which you can pick up closer to your hotel. The relevant stop is on Heyl Ha-Handassa and Shivtei Yisrael. The route of the bus will give you a great tour as it makes its way through the city in not the most direct route to the Mall.

The above answers are accurate. Just one extra note. While it may be only 20 minutes if you have a car, it may also be a great deal longer depending on the traffic, so don't think that it would be advisable to take a taxi to avoid the long bus ride.

An hour? You guys have got to be kidding. Take a taxi and you will be there in 15 minutes tops. Just choose an hour when the roads are not jammed. Between 10 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. is best. There are several other buses you can get on Jaffa Road, among them 31 or 32 (both travel in the same direction, towards Gilo, but only one of them stops at Malcha mall).

You can also ask for a transfer ticket and use them for unlimited buses within an hour and fifteen minutes. I checked and it is the 31 that goes to Malcha.

Travel Tips for Jerusalem

Shabbat

by traveloturc

One of its many unique qualities is that Jerusalem almost completely shuts down on Shabbat. This is a time of incredible quiet, like nothing you can experience in any other major city, when the observant Jews head for the Western Wall, synagogues and family gatherings, and less observant Jews enjoy their one day off from work, spend the day with their families, relax and take in the breathtaking beauty of the city. A handful of restaurants stay open and people still roam the streets, but most activity ends mid-day Friday and doesn't pick up again until after dark on Saturday.

Jerusalem, old, new and beautiful

by Gili_S

Visit the old city, take a walk on the narrow streets, walk up to the walls and feel the history around you. Visit also the King David Tower just in the outskirt of the Jaffa gate. And, by the way, a phonecall to god cost only 1cent per min. in Jerusalem, they say it is because it is a local call here.

Tower of David Museum

Walking through the Tower of David Museum is like walking through a space age time capsule. In each room of this 2,000 year old citadel another era of Jerusalem’s history is detailed through state of the art displays and exhibits..
