Travel by sherut in Tel Aviv

by hofbauer

How much should I expect to pay for a sherut trip between Ben Gurion airport and Givataim?

Re: Travel by sherut in Tel Aviv

by Oreet

There is no sherut service between Ben Gurion airport and Givataim - you will have to take a taxi. There is an official taxi stand right outside the terminal and the rates are set. A taxi will cost you 110 NIS daytime rate and 124 NIS nights and Shabbat. There will be a slight additional charge per piece of luggage and for passengers over two passengers.

As stated above, there is no Sherut from the airtport to the Tel-Aviv area. You can either take a taxi or take the train. The train station in Tel-Aviv is on the border of Tel-Aviv and Givatayim. Where exactly do you need to get into in Givatayim? Most chances are that you can take the train and then bus number 55 or 56. If you have an exact address in Givatayim I woulc be more specific.

BTW, if you ask about Givatayim and/or Tel-Aviv, you better not post under the Jerusalem forum. Most people who live in Jerusalem will have no cluse about transportation in Givatayim. You better post under the "Tel-Aviv District" forum.

Travel Tips for Jerusalem

Jerusalem Old City

by Kuznetsov_Sergey

The Old City is about 1 square kilometre walled area within the modern city of Jerusalem.
Until the middle of the XIXth century this area constituted the entire city of Jerusalem.
Traditionally, the Old City has been divided into four quarters, although the current designations were introduced only in the 19th century. Today the Old City is divided into the Muslim Quarter, the Christian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter and the Armenian Quarter.

The Old City is home to several sites of great religious importance: the Temple Mount and its Western Wall for Jews, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Christians, and the Dome of the Rock and al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslims.

The Church of Dominus Flexit -...

by Wings2Fly

The Church of Dominus Flexit - 'the Lord wept.' This church is on the slopes of the Mount of Olives facing the Temple Mount. The present church was built on the ruins of an ancient church and marks the spot where Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem which would be destroyed shortly. I experienced Yad Vashem, the Mount of Remembrance. Here in Jerusalem, seat of Jewish spirituality and learning is the memorial for the study and commemoration of the greatest tragedy in Jewish history, the Holocaust. Within the Children's Memorial Garden, an underground structure was built commemorating the one and a half million Jewish children who perished in the Holocaust. Three dimensional photos of children are exhibited. Five burning memorial candles a multiplied into an infinite number, symbolizing the souls of children who perished and whose names are heard in the background. 'Their death a fever of sorrow; their memories soft and warm.'
