Prima Kings - Excellent Location, Just OK Rooms

Prima Kings was my last hotel in Israel. Having had some very nice hotels to compare it to, it did not compare favorably. The rooms are small, as is expected when one travels to Europe. My room was OK, in that the bathroom was well-equipped and had a coffee maker. No view to speak of, and the elevator was incredibly small and slow.

My friends' room was oddly-situated - you had to pass through the stairwell to get to the room. Her bathroom was laughably small - you practically had to sit on the commode to take a shower. Since it was for only one night, we didn't mind so much, but still!

Breakfast is included in the room price, and it is quite a spread. Seriously, you will not go hungry - the choices are so great.

Unique Quality: The location, however, was wonderful! Less than 1/4 mile from the Old City, just exit the hotel, make a left and go straight to the Jaffa Gate. On the way, you pass the Mamilla Shopping Center, or, if you make another left after exiting the hotel, you will find yourself on Ben Yahuda Street, yet another shopping mecca.

4 days in Jerusalem

by Seabeeman

Any advice for a traveler who would like to spend 3 days in the city of Jerusalem. Too short traveling from NYC? We perfer comfortable hotels and good dining after siteseeing. Is this an expensive city, hotel, food , tours? About how much per day for two persons?
Thanks for your replys and advice.

If you are flying directly from NYC you have to take jet lag in consideration. It might really be a problem if you have only 3 days all told for visiting. Might be worth considering a private guide with car: http://www.tour-guides.co.il/

Comfortable hotel? What price range are you considering and at what time of year?
There are the large chains like Sheraton, Radisson, Park Plaza and so on but some of the best are not in that range. The very best is the King David level (5* +).
Some of the others can be just as comfortable if not as luxurious.
Here is a list of some of them. All are available on the 'net, just google it:

Jerusalem - Superior 1st Class Hotels - 4 1/2 Star
Crowne Plaza Hotel Jerusalem
Dan Panorama Hotel Jerusalem
Grand Court Hotel
King Solomon Hotel Jerusalem
Renaissance Hotel Jerusalem (not a terribly convenient location)

Jerusalem - First Class Hotels - 4 Star
American Colony Hotel Jerusalem
Caesar Hotel Jerusalem
Lev Yerushalayim Hotel Jerusalem
Mount Zion Hotel Jerusalem
Novotel Hotel Jerusalem ("Business" hotel)
Park Plaza Hotel Jerusalem
Pearl Jerusalem Hotel Jerusalem (Glatt Kosher for the very religious Jewish tourist)
Prima Kings Hotel Jerusalem
Prima Palace Hotel Jerusalem
Ramat Rachel Hotel Jerusalem
Olive Tree Royal Plaza Hotel Jerusalem

Welcome and enjoy your visit.
