We choose this hotel for a 2 nights stay in Eilat and it turned out that this was a very good choice. The location of the hotel was very convenient, everything that we expected was there, the service very good, all was spotlessly clean. On the downside was an utterly expensive Internet connection - when paying such prices for the room, one would expect the Internet to be included; what is then next, paying for the air condition, or for the electricity? Anyway, a sensible, although less convenient way is of schlepping your laptop to any of the nearby cafés - all ofer free Internet connection. A more minor remark: some renovation should be considered in the bathroom.
Unique Quality: The rooms have a nice touch of class, the elevators are very fast and quiet, and the piece of resistance was the breakfast (included in our deal).

This one is one of the best in Eilat... and not for you budget travelers...
Located in the northern area of Eilat which means preatty much near by the promanade and many other attractions.
as all the rest of the luxurious hotels the Dan has all the spoiling stuff that you can wish for.
The balconies are watching the bay of Eilat and at some parts you can see Aqaba (the Jordanian beaches) and in most rooms you can see the Eilat beaches as well.
The rooms are really comfortable and lovely.
I had a nice time staying there though i always prefer to stay in the south side where its a bit more quiet and far from the center...
But okay when you get a present to stay in the Dan Hotel you dont say no... :-)

Last time we did stay in the other Dan, hotel, not this one which is much larger and fancier. This one is located just by the sea in the north beach, great swimming pool and all luxurious facilities. One of the most astonishing hotels in Eilat.

Q: Walking distance? "Does anyone know how far it is from the border crossing at Taba to the Underwater observatory in Eilat?...and are there taxis..."
A: "It's about 2km from the Eilat side of the Taba crossing to the Observatory - if you look on Google maps both are marked. There's a bit of "no man's land" between the Taba..."
