Excellent Family Suite Hotel

The Royal Garden Suite Hotel is primarily suitable for families with children. The comfortable suites include a double bedroom a, sitting room with a double sofa-bed, a bathroom (with two sinks) and a kitchenette.

The hotel's pride is its swimming pool - tropical garden area. This large area is beautifully landscaped, and offers a varied swimming and bathing environment amidst palm tree and tropical vegetation. One of the highlights is a sandy beach pool, with gentle sand surfacing. Another area is landscaped like a river complete with rocky cliffs, artificial waterfalls, water sprinklers and a cave, and a moderate water current flowing "downstream".

The service was on the whole good, and breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

As for the location: This hotel does not lie directly on the beach, but on a plaza opposite the beach-side Royal Beach Hotel, which belongs to the same chain (Isrotel). It's a 1-2 minute walk to the beach, and Royal Garden Hotel guests may use the beach chairs of the Royal Beach Hotel for a small fee (which is often not collected).

Check-in is at 15:00, and check-out is at 11:00, but after checking out from our room we continued to use the pool until the evening (there are showers and changing rooms in the pool area).

The hotel offers wireless internet connection, but we found the price of NIS 75 per day (or NIS 25 per hour) outrageous.

A: "It's about 2km from the Eilat side of the Taba crossing to the Observatory - if you look on Google maps both are marked. There's a bit of "no man's land" between the Taba..."
