In biblical times Amman was known as Rabbath Ammon. When it became part of the Roman Empire its name was changed into Philadelphia when part of Roman Empire, only to become Amman when the Empire collapsed. Today Amman is an ever-expanding city: from the 7 hills upon which it was built, it now sreads across 14 of them (if i remember correctly). walking around downtown - during the day - or at night - and enjoying the distinctive Middle Eastern flavour of this amazing city

Jordan's electricity supply is 220 volts/50 cycles AC. Sockets are generally of the two-pronged European variety, while a variety of other sockets and plugs's especially the 13 amp square three-pinned plugs are in use. Its best to bring a multi purpose adapter.

Inside the blue house, mainly paintings are exhibited.
This is quite surprising, there is first a big room with a few modern paintings and then a small cosy room organised as old art museum : the painting are litterally covering the whole wall.

transportation in Amman isnt a complicated matter, taxis are avaiable 24/7 and they arent expensive too but some drivers manupilate the prices and try to get the most out of the tourist, try to be smart and pay according to the meter, another cheap way for transporting in amman is as we call it the "service" which is a white old mercedes most of the times, all service cars have a specific line of transportation and most of them head for downtown amman, buses arnt a very useful way for tourists for they can be very slow and annoying and it would take you lots of time to get to where you want to go, but in my opinion the best way would be befriending a native ammanian with a car that can take you and show you around the town for free, good luck in finding that ammanian ! email me if u need anything.
