Christian Amman
by TheWanderingCamel
It may come as a surprise to some visitors to Amman to see big new churches in the city but in fact about 6% of Jordan's population is Christian. The majority live in Amman, and nearby Madaba, with smaller congregations in Kerak and Salt and the country's Constitution guarantees their right to worship openly and freely.
The majority of Christians belong to the Greek Orthodox Church and there are no less than 6 Greek Orthodox churches in Amman, but there are also Greek and Roman Catholic communities, Syrian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox and, among the non-Arabs, Armenian Orthodox and Catholics. Land has recently been granted to the Maronite community to build a new church in the city.

Queen Alia International Airport
by Djinn76
Nothing special about the airport itself. since it is located outside the city, count 20-30 minutes by road to reach the center (depending where you stay).
I don't know how to go from the airport to the city (a friend picked me up) but in the other direction, count between 15 and 25JD (depending how you negotiate) for a yellow taxi.
You will most probably need a visa to enter Jordan but you can buy it directly (and very easily) from the airport for 10JD.
They only accept cash (and Jordan Dinar) but you can change some JD directly at the airport ...
When leaving, there is a "departure tax" as well, I think it was 7 JD
