twin hotels in Downtown Amman 2

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on August 28, 2013

part two of my 2 part tip with more pictures around both hotels

The Grand Palace Hotel and it's larger twin, the Regency Palace Hotel is a large hotel complex in Downtown Amman. The Grand Palace Hotel is the smaller of the two and is the hotel we stayed (it is rated as a four star hotel) while the Regency Palace Hotel is the newer and taller one beside it, and is rated at 5 stars. It was formerly managed by the Golden Tulip Hotel Group, hence it is still at the Golden Tulip Grand Palace pages here at Virtual Tourists but now has a different management.

The Grand Palace hotel has 136 rooms and suites in an 8 story building that lies along the Busy Queen Aliah Road in the Center of Amman. This hotel is a favorite of Christian Pilgrims from around the world who go to Jordan as part of a Holyland Pilgrimage. The hotel is in the Business District and is close to Royal Culture Center, International Stadium, and King Hussain Sports City. Also nearby are Military Museum and Coptic Church.

Unique Quality: the grand palace hotel is a bit dated and the rooms here are old, but if you just use hotel rooms as a place to sleep since you will be away on tours most of the time and on a pilgrimage like us, then the accomodations here is quite ok. they have the standard bath and hot shower and amenities like complimentary toiletries and a coffee maker, Old CRT TV's, free breakfast buffet at the Grand Restaurant and you can have a drink at the lounge bar. however if you want to have a more luxurious restaurant and bar setting, then just go over the door that connects it to the Regency Palace Hotel and you can have a party at Trader Vic's or the Library or at the Al Madafa Restaurant.

WIFI Service is not FREE! you need to pay JD 10 for one day of unlimited WIFI Internet Access!

Glad to stayed here!

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)

It was a hard decission where to stay in Jordan because we didnt see any mid range priced hotels. We couldnt afford hotels more expensive, but sicne we paid around 80- 120 dollars a night... this hotel was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful about any questions we had about how to get around in town. The room was clean, and cannot complain about privacy and room service.

The breakfast in the morning was good enough for last the whole morning and more. Based on eggs, pita bread, cheeses, fruits, cereal.. a little bit of everything.

The hotel has a parking lot free of charge if you are renting a car. Big lobby (not that good looking) , but pleasant if you want to be outside of your room and also had wireless internet service in the lobby.

Unique Quality: Loved about this place that we could go walk around on Queen Alia street that 2 blocks away are little shops and restaurants. Is easy to stand outside of the hotel and get a taxi easily. Its is a good town area.. Also is a walking distance to banks, a night outing area calles Sheimasani... and next to Traders Vics.. just two steps away if you want to stay close to have a few drinks.

Directions: Next to the Regency hotel on Queen Alia St. And next to Trader Vics

This nice 4 stars hotel is locate in Amman, just few minutes by walk by the Sports City. Rooms are located on 6 floors. They all have marble bathrooms with bidet, hand held shower, in addition to a fixed shower and a hair dryer. Bedrooms are fully air-conditioned, mini-bar and Tv. Breakfast is on the ground floor to the restaurant and it good. Good is also the dinner.
A very nice experience in the heart of Jordan.
