hi all
i would like to know how much a villa with swimming pool rent can cost per month or per year \(OR a flat in a building with swimming pool) in a decent area in Amman,,abd also how much per month an INTERNET ADSL with 1MGB speed

ADSL annual subscription around 430$, better to use the wireless modem service for wireless and no land line additional cost. around 350$
An apartment in a compound with a swimming pool would at least be 11.000$
In my desperate state I also went to see Jurassic Park 2 'The lost word.' That supercrappy movie sums up my joy in Amman. OK OK. The wiew from the hill opposite to the roman theatre was kinda nice. Amman looks sorta interesting with all the hills and stuff. My point is I'd rather stay 2 hrs in Damascus/Aleppo/Jerusalem/Aswan/anyotherarabcitybutaqaba than a day in Amman. LOL.
The Hashemite Hash House Harriers runs every Monday at 6.30pm. Visitors are welcome to get in touch and join the regulars for a planned Hare and Hounds run followed by a social gathering (involving lots of beer, some food and some chat).
Walkers can also welcome - the run/walk is organised so the two groups finish at the same time and place.
There's a small charge to cover costs.

This is a great way to meet people who are actually living in Jordan, not just passing through.

Far from the popular center, this is a modern eastern mall where you can find everything from fashion clothes to local souvenirs or artwork.
This is cold and you could definitely regreat the lack of soul but at least no bargaining here, you know you are paying a correct price for the quality you expect...
Probably controversial subject, I know some people prefer to go to the souk, this is just a suggested alternative for the ones who don't like it...
For example a friend bought some jewelry in the center, he discussed a lot, got a price at the end but even now, he still doesn't know if he has paid a honnest price or has been fooled...
Taxis in Amman are plenty.
They usually have a meter and the drivers use it !
just few of them are using the airco as it consumes more petrol and in Jordan, petrol is not cheap.
The starting price is 0.15 JOD and go according to the distance.
You can get to most places in town for less than 1.5 JOD.
I have tried many buffet places in Amman and in other part of Jordan and to me, the best of all is the one at the top ranked Four Season Hotel (5th circle).
It is always fresh and rich with all type of food you need including cheese and dessert.
Price is about 15 JOD or 22 USD.
