Hotel: Valley Star Inn

by asolotraveler

I was able to come across this Hotel that was owned by the driver of the Taxi that I took from Amman to Petra. Usually I book a room ahead but did not have time to do so. The hotel is located in the heart of the Historic District of Wadi Musa. Only 5 minute drive from the entrance to the Historic site of Petra. I was comforted by the outside decor coming from the New Palm Hostel in Jerusalem. Nice open waiting, reception area. The three young Jordian's greeted me though only one of them spoke English. They showed my around the downstairs area which held the reception and Dining area. The dining area was large with several tables dressed in tablecloths. The waiting area was very pleasant with large couches and chairs. There was a little area off to the side where there was a computer that could be used. My room was upstairs. It was a single room with 2 twin beds, Wide screen TV, private phone, (local and long distance calling) bath, and shower. Everything in the room was clean with daily housekeeping. The cost was 57.00 Dinar for 2 nights with dinner costing about 7 Dinar. Since I was there to go to Petra, I was told that I would be given a ride to the entrance of the Park though it was within walking distance. Overall I like the feel of the place and the hospitality of the attendants. There is a store and an ATM machine down the hill and around the corner. I would stay there again.

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea: Gorgeous Resort... service needs some improvement

by JessH

* * * TIP UNDER CONSTRUCTION * * *

Set on the northern shores of the Dead Sea at the lowest point on Earth, this deluxe resort, built in traditional village style, offers luxurious rooms, a range of outlets, first-class meeting and leisure facilities featuring the renowned ZARA Spa.

In 2010, we paid JOD 159.00 per night for a double room (King bed).
Our room was located in the village area of the resort (much more character, nicer and quieter than the rooms located in the main resort building.)
Taxes were JOD 91.50- and the airport pick-up (2-ways) was incl. tax: JOD 45.00.-

The room price included full Breakfast Buffet and Dinner Buffet at Al Saraya restaurant (half board.)

Hamoudah Hotel Amman: Clean basic rooms with ensuite bathroom, friendly

by daol

We booked Hamoudah hotel through booking.com
It was the cheapest accomodation to get. The room was very basic. You need to bring toilet paper and towels yourself. most important the room is clean and we felt safe. The owner is from Palestine and very friendly and talkative. (His father and brother also work there) He also offers to drive you to the airport for a reasonable price, also offers tours! In our room wifi did not work, but we were able to use his pc at reception desk.
The hotel itself is based in "Balad" Downtown Amman. Lots of restaurants very close as is the roman theater, citadel and all other sights!

Definitly to recommend!!!

Cheap, clean, safe, friendly service. Family run Inn! Close to the sights Amman has to offer

Marina Plaza hotel: Stay in Tala Bay

by Ronza

Our stay in Marina Plaza was not bad. We chose a 4* hotel and I was especially worried about the food there coz our booking was on HB basis. Of course there are many things that weren’t very good . For example the carpet in the room wasn’t very clean. The AC in the room has a very loud voice. The reception and lobby are very narrow. The hotel has a free access on the beach but is not directly located on the beach so you have to walk a little bit to arrive…
In the other hand, the food was very good as well as the service and the room was comfortable.
I also appreciated that the hotel organized 4 shuttle buses per day to and from Aqaba city center.
In conclusion, our stay was good in Marina Plaza hotel – Tala Bay

Good and rich buffet breakfast and dinner
Nice and clean pools
Free access to the beach
Daily free shuttle buses to the city center

Evason Ma'In & Six Senses Spa: An Excellent Spa Hotel

by Maria81

Evason Ma'In, with the Six Senses Spa attached, seemed like a nice accommodation alternative to the big resorts of the Dead Sea, having more of a boutique feel. I was a bit apprehensive at first, as the place is quite new and there were few reviews for it – and those for the hotel that once was in its place were not entirely favourable. However, the Evason/Six Senses is a well-known brand, so we figured we should be ok – and not regret it for a minute.

First of all, loved the design which was a nice blend of Far East and Middle East, with natural materials (cotton, wood, stone, parchment, cord, wool, etc.) used throughout the hotel, their dark brown and cream/off-white colours complemented nicely by brightly coloured cushions and throws.

Service, although maybe not as sleek as, say, in 5* establishments in Europe or in Qatar, was still excellent, attentive enough without being overwhelming.

Design – this was one of the main reasons we booked it for (despite hotel photos often being too flattering to the properly in question), and were not disappointed

Healthy food and juices menu – Six Senses is a spa, and the food menu reflected that (even though there were plenty of oriental sweets if you felt like indulging yourself!). The juice and smoothie menu was particularly remarkable with over 30 items on the room service menu alone.

Romantic atmosphere – especially in the evening, with lights on the paths of the hotel, hammocks in the lush greenery overlooking the hot spring waterfalls, tables for two, etc. It's fair to say that both Chesh and I enjoyed it very much :)

Bedouin Garden Village: Aqaba's best secret

by phoenixsonrisa

If you are looking for somewhere cheap but yet beautiful then this is the place. At first, reading other reviews about this place made me a little wary about staying there. I am glad that I didn't listen. The hostel is for the budget friendly and those who don't mind doing without certain amenities. The rooms are basic and clean but seriously, with so much to do in Jordan all you need is a place to sleep and shower.

The people that runs the hotel are very nice and very considerate. Whatever you need, they will get it for you. They have excellent hookah and coffee. The breakfast is a little basic but it was satisfying to say the least. Also they have different flavors of tea which I took advantage of.

One thing I liked about it is the open space. When you enter the "lobby" they have areas where you can chillax and read a book. Also they do have wireless service which is FREE. The pool is small but I think that it has a wonderful view.

Rafah Hotel, Imperial Palace Hotel, Olive Branch R: Bath- and restrooms in Jordan

by ChoBeowulf

Without being picky...but if you prefer to have a bathroom/restroom you want to use during your stay in Jordan, I am sorry to say, you have to invest a minimum of 150 JD per doubleroom. Anything below gives you a standard which does not even deserve the title "standard".

The staff is mostly more than friendly and helpful, but make sure to ask about all the price details before! You might be surprised by the surcharges when you check out.

Hotel Geneva, Amman, Jordan: Hotel in Amman

by TheAndos

This hotel is way out west on 7th circle. There are a couple of ATMs and sherwarma shops but not much else. However it is only a 2JD taxi ride to 3rd circle where you can eat. The staff were welcoming but note that no alcohol is served here. Our room was on the back and quiet, not luxurious but perfectly ok, big bathroom. Great breakfast buffet.

Pool wasn't open.

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea: Heaven

by TheAndos

We never stay in luxury resorts so this was heavenly! The staff are so polite and welcoming, the rooms are beautiful. There are several restaurants and pools, spacious reception areas, a beach. You walk through small blocks of apartments to the beach or pool or restaurants but it is like walking through an old village.

Great sunsets over the Dead Sea with Palestine in the background.
