Missoni Hotel: Kuwait City's Trendiest

by MM212

Opened in 2011, the Missoni Hotel is the designer's second ever after Edinburgh. Why Kuwait was chosen seems a bit odd, but maybe a business study led them to realise there was a serious lack of cool hotels in the city. This is the reason why the Missoni Hotel is so welcomed here. I stayed here for one night in Nov 2012 while in Kuwait on business and enjoyed my stay very much. It is located near Marina Mall, on the shores of the Gulf with stunning views of the water and the Kuwait skyline. As expected from Missoni, the interiors are very colourful and beautifully designed, and the hotel comes with the comforts of five star accommodations. This is probably the hotel I would stay at on future visits to Kuwait. The only disadvantage is that it is located about 20 minutes from the centre of the city, so business travels would just have to factor a little extra time on their way to meetings... hardly a high price to pay.

The Palms - or - The Radisson SAS: Great 5 star accomodations

by KeithFitzgerald

I stayed both at the The Palms and The Radisson SAS hotels. Both are located along the Perisan Gulf and withing minutes of downtown Kuwait City. They are offer 5 star accomdations for both the business traveler and family vacations alike. Wonderful suites and rooms great views of the Gulf, delicious international or local cuisines.

Surrounded by palm trees and rich in international flavor, you won't be dissapointed with the staff and how they pamper you with cold (non) acoholic cocktails, offer relaxing sauna treatments, have scuba and fishing trips or day trips to the outlying Gulf Islands.

Defienetely good service. Located in the city center, where you can reach shopping malls, beaches or Kuwait Towers for a 1.5 - 2 KD (6-8 US $) taxi fare.
I guess because Americans prefer to stay security is strict.
One night fare was about 220 US $ including breakfast.
Has also a pool and fitness center.

Le Meridien: Great Hotel

by LaurenK

I stayed here for three nights and had a great stay. I had a deluxe room which had the biggest bed and pillows I've ever seen and the bathroom was also huge and very well equipped. I was staying here on business so maybe there wasn't alot of work space (just one small table) but otherwise the room was perfect. There was a free internet connection in my room and a good selection of arabic, english, german and french TV stations. The hotel is slightly outside the city centre but that was nice as it was by the sea and away from the crazy traffic and a taxi ride to the city centre only took a few minutes. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, in fact, they were the nicest hotel staff I have ever encountered! The hotel also picked me up from the airport upon my arrival and brought me back when I was leaving.
Breakfast was excellent.
Kuwait towers are only 5-10 minutes walk away and the sea is directly across the road. The staff were more than happy to suggest a shopping mall and arranged a taxi to take me there.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

The Palms Hotel & Beach Club: Good hotel with great beach club

by chizz

A friend lived here for 6 weeks when she first arrived in Kuwait. Rooms are nice with kitchenette.

Nice pools and private beach, great gym where memberships or day passes can be obtained. Friendly staff and instructors.

Sheraton Four Points: One of the best

by chizz

Husband stayed here for 1 month prior to finding his own accommodation. Nice rooms, good gym and good breakfast (although could be a bit repetitive). Rates paid by company but not cheap.

Good gym - can use other gym of adjoining Sheraton with steam and sauna. Pool at the adjoining Sheraton.

Al MAnsar Rotana: Best apartment

by sakinai

its a great hotel in Faheel, nice apartment and sometimes got a good deal when ur lucky considering hotels in kuwait are ridiculously expensive already. Hilton Hotel is another classy one but more expensive but definitely worth the money.

got everything...roof top pool overlooking the sea, restaurant and the apartment type of the hotel.

Holiday Inn Downtown: good base to visit Kuwait

by MarcV

the hotel is located in the Dasman area, within walking distance of the coast near the shopping centre of Sharq Souq and a 15 min walk from the city's main landmark, the two Kuwait Towers. A nice lavish breakfast, nice and very clean rooms, recently redone, good restaurants and very attentive staff. The price is very reasonable too.

couchsurfing.com: Free Housing?

by Hexepatty

Go to couchsurfing.com and find someone to "house" you. It's fun, safe, and well, free. Sure, you'd want to reciprocate if/when the time arrises, but frankly, this is where we found our accommodation. Met a lovely UK teacher living in Kuwait that put us up for one night. She was kind, her 2 bedroom 2 bath flat gave us the space we needed (again, only for one night!) and she even took us around, since we rented a car. It was superb. Would use couchsurfing.com again!

Her apartment was not far from Kuwait City and was nice and convenient. Easy to get to. had AC and a view of the highway.
