Sheraton Kuwait Hotel and Towers: One of the best hotels in Kuwait

by ChristinaC

It's really a great hotel, no doubt about it! The service is amazing, and fast! There is alot to do at the hotel, and the only thing I needed was an indoor swimmingpool, for the days it was raining! Sheraton is located in the heart of the commercial and financial districts of Kuwait City...
For someone that want s to stay at a First Class hotel Sheraton would be a good choice!

Khalifa Resort: Better than the Fintas Towers!

by american_tourister

A big step up from the Fintas Towers but still too crowded and dirty. At least it is on the water and you can swim and it has a nice pool.

It is not close to anything but the company has a bus service that goes from here to several stops in town.

Fintas Towers: I can't believe this place

by american_tourister

After traveling for 30 hours I was put up in this dump. I shared a room with 18 other guys and also shared one bath with them.

It was hot, crowded, and noisy. I hated it and I'm glad they finally moved to another location.

Not close to anything of interest. No amenities, no fun.

Kempinski Resort: A slice of heaven

by american_tourister

What a welcome break from the rigors of Iraq. King sized beds, full baths, great food, friendly attentive staff. It is a real 5 star hotel.

Sea side location that is out of town. Empty beaches and warm Gulf water make it a terriffic place to unwind.

The no beer deal in Kuwait though detracts from it. After 4 months in Iraq I really want a beer and they have none.

Standards of accommodation in...

by Divingmouse

Standards of accommodation in Kuwait are very high, with most hotels being 5star, however, these are all the same price at KD57.500 (last time I checked), as set by the government so the only real choice here is to choose one close to where you will be working or socializing.

5 star hotels are: Le Meridien, City, Tel. 245 5550. & Kuwait Plaza, City, Tel. 243 6686, Fax 241 2198, E-mail: plaza@ncc.moc.kw. These two are handy for shopping, with the Muthanna Complex being immediately
between the two (the latter having direct access).

Sheraton, City, Tel. 242 2055, Fax 244 8032. This one is on the coast side of the city and is the easiest one to get out of!

Safir International, Dasman, Tel. 253 0000, Fax 256 3797. The Safir is not particularly handy for anything except TGIF & Fuddruckers, both on the beach opposite.

Crowne Plaza (Holiday Inn), Farwaniya, Tel. 474 2000, Fax 473 2020. E-mail: crowne@qualitynet.netThis hotel
is the closest to the airport has several excellent restaurants and probably the best gym in the country. The Nautilus Fitness Centre membership is open to nonresident but the fees are negotiable on an individual basis.

Messilah Beach Hotel, Messilah, Tel. 562 4111, Fax 562 9402, E-mail: mbhotel-kwt@usa.net. Here we have
just about the only hotel that helps the expat community to enjoy itself, being the host to the annual Raft Race.

SAS Radisson, Salwa, Tel. 575 6000, Fax 575 0155, E-mail: Again we have some good eating, a reasonable gym, and hosts of many Quiz Nights. Chalets are available for long term guests and this is the nearest hotel to the (un)official Hash Bar.

3 star hotels are still of high quality and the one that usually comes highly recommended is The Oasis Hotel. This is located in the banking district of the City, has it’s own parking, one of the best Indian restaurants in Kuwait and is run by the same group as the SAS Radisson, meaning you can use the SAS facilities such as gym, pool, etc. They can be contacted on Tel. 246 5489, Fax 246 5490.

Wherever you are staying, don’t forget to ask for a discount. These apply to weekdays, weekends, and long
stay.

3 bedroom flat. This is Bill's Arabic style diwaniya. Traditionally it should be only for men but he lets me go in sometimes. Here he keeps all his stuff like pipes, cigars, shisha pipe and who knows what other guy stuff. Fine with me.
1200 us dollars month.

Very large with maids quarters and swimming pool.

Sheraton Kuwait, Kuwait City: Sheraton Kuwait, Kuwait City

by jomlin

66 KD per night. Current exchange rate is 2.8 to 3.2

Very Nice. 4 places to eat. Room Service was wonderful. They wait on you hand and foot. You are assigned a personal butler. There is a maid assigned to you floor and wing. Use your DO NOT DISTURB sign or she will wake you at 8:00 am.
