visit visa kuwait

by frankschlussza35

can anyone visit Kuwait for a holiday
i believe you can get a visit visa at the airport
but what if they deny a visa, then will they send you home?
especially if its an unmarried girl from South Africa?

Hello,

Accroding to http://www.kuwait-info.org/services.html South Africa is not one of the 34 countries whose nationals may apply for a visa on arrival. So you will have to get a visa beforehand at an embassy or consulate (sponsor required).

As the previous poster mentioned, with a South African passport you will have to apply beforehand for a visa.

Travel Tips for Kuwait

Reply to "As salaamu alaykom"

by siinq8

Kuwaitis unfalteringly say "As salaamu alaykom" when entering a room, even if everyone in the room is a stranger. This means "Peace be upon you". It is common courtesy to reply with "wa alaykom salaam". Simply replying with "hi" can cause a sour look!

Impressive designs of homes in the suburbs

by angiebabe

Its worth taking the chance to get out and about - well I did by being driven by the family I spent an evening with from their home back to my hotel near the airport which entailed driving through a new city and the homes in it, not to mention the ones where the family I visited lived, were really impressive - and huge - almost like small palaces!

When I got a taxi to drive me in daylight out into the country we drove past lovely new homes that were also like small palaces and of really impressive architecture and design!

I was told that generally these homes are for individual families and that this is the lifestyle of normal Kuwaitis who enjoy the wealth of the country generated from the oil that Kuwait yields which is distributed by the rulers in the form of affordable housing, free medical care and reliable employment.

Beautiful Park just off 3rd Ring Road

by kuwait_david

Travelling along 3rd Ring Road watch out for the Water Storage Tanks painted in blue and white stripes. Under those is a beautiful park where you can sit out in Winter and enjoy a picnic or just watch the world go by. To get there turn off 3rd Ring onto the 40 road (Damascus Street) and take first right past the football stadium and the park is on your left. It is not easy to miss it with the huge towers in the centre of the park. At sunset the towers are lit as is a beautiful mosque at the end of the park, have your camera at the ready for that stunning picture.

Fish Market

by jlanza29

Some of the best cultural experiences anyone can ever have are in the souqs of the middle east, we were looking for the tradtional street one, but Kuwait seems to have forgone that and built modern ones...we went into the Fish market by pure mistake... nothing out of this world but at least looked around for about 15 minutes and that was enough of the smell so we left..... if you decide to buy anything remeber haggle no matter what !!!!
