Established Luxury

I didn't stay at the JW Marriott, but I was privy to a number of reviews of the hotel. Actually, having stayed at the Courtyard, everyone tried to compare the two hotels. According to the reviews, the JW is a far more established hotel - it has long been Kuwait's premier destination apart from the Hilton. It is also, therefore, an older hotel that is allegedly not quite as user-friendly as the Courtyard. Nevertheless, its concierge and valet seemed to be quite nice, and I would imagine that anywhere that is 5-star is quite a dream to stay in.

Nice business hotel in a very central location

As you'd expect from a JW Marriott, this one also has very good business facilities and nice, spacious rooms. As my stay there was during the month of Ramadan, they had made special arrangements for Iftar and Suhur, which I also found very positive.

Unique Quality: The central location of the Marriott makes it very easily accessible and a good hotel for business trips. The Kuwait office of the company I work for is walking distance from the JW Marriott which was very convenient.

Kuwait City's best hotel

In a city of startling contrasts, Kuwait has a gem in the J. W. Marriott. If you can afford it, it's well worth the price. The staff are all helpful without hovering and seem to be genuinely nice people (as opposed to the smile with the hand out). The rooms are spacious, well-designed and well-stocked with everything you need, except for alcohol.

Unique Quality: The staff turns down the bed nightly and leaves an orchid stem on the bed, along with the chocolate.

There are most amenities, including a very well equipped health club with the most modern machines and a pool, hot tub and massage room. There is a business center from which you can email, fax or surf the Web.

I highly recommend this hotel when you're in Kuwait.
