We stayed for the night.
The room was luxury compared with our hotel in both Damascus and near Krak de Chavalier, although the latter was impressive.
However, there was a rather tired feel to the Chtaura Park ----faded glory. Perhaps it has been refurbished recently.
Our suite was a good size, the function rooms were enormous and the dining room was vast.
The food was fine although our tour group (Voyages Jules Verne) ate in a private dining area rather than in the empty main room. Was anyone else staying?
Our en-suite room had plenty of beautiful wood, comfortable white chairs and a sofa. The walls were covered in a purple velvetine fabric!
In the morning I explored some of the other rooms and I was amazed to see that a huge card session had obviously finished well through the night! There were briefcases, cards, jackets etc scattered over the tables. It reminded me of 'The Sopranos'!
Would we stay again? Yes.
There are photos of many famour visitors, especially political ones, on the foyer walls.
