    • Most people I met in Beirut were extremely friendly, givne the difficult cirmcustances, except the Alexandre's front desk staff. They were neither pleased to see me, nor sad to see me go. Not brusque exactly, just unfocused and disinterested.

    It's a fairly spartan but adequate place. Excellent coffee, though.
