Even though this old fashion hotel is basic, its rooms are decent-sized, CLEAN, and it's in a good central Hamra location; next to it are various cafés, restaurants, universities, banks, shopping areas, etc...
Rooms are fine for the price, with Tv , A/c and fridge.
Some rooms have a sun terrace which is a good deal.
Unique Quality: There is a lovely ground floor garden terrace, and a pretty light-filled breakfast room, a quiet place to enjoy a copious traditional breakfast , and to sit with a book and some post-cards to write.
Just need a place to sleep in Beirut. I was ok with that place, nothing fancy here. Very into the Iraqi/syrian style !!
Iraqi : big room with decrepit carpet
Syrian : to have hot water just turn on the cold water tap !
To sum-up, old style big room, with AC, big fridge, small hospital TV.
Room 207 at the backside of the hotel and looking to old abandoned houses in a back street of Hamra.
Paid 35 USD for bed including tax. Starbuck at 50 m for breakfast.
In one word, not so bad for beirut and reasonably friendly staff.
!! I could park the car in front of the hotel for safety !!! Kool
Unique Quality: Big room, not so expensive for Beirut
Directions: Hamra, not far from Starbuck
I stay at Hotel Embassy in Hamra district. Was OK hotel and centrally located. Cant remember price but it wasnt expensive.
