We stayed at the Beirut Marriott from May 25th 2005 till May 29th 2005. The hotel was excellent and the staff were also. Although we were told the hotel was half full we saw very few guests. The room was good with TV and bathroom. Breakfast in the resteraunt was very good with the Chef coming to greet us each morning to ask how we would like our eggs done. We did not eat at the hotel in the evenings but stayed out. The rooftop bar/resteraunt was also very good with pleasant cheerfull staff who would recommend cocktails and snacks. Draft beer was also available. The pool was very good also. Our luggage was searched on arrival and each time we came into the hotel we had to go through a metal detector. Reception staff were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the Corniche although the Corniche is a bit run down generally. Taxis are available from outside the hotel 10,000 Lebanese Pounds to Downtown or from the Car Hire Desk inside the hotel at 15,000 Lebanese Pounds.
