Clean and very friendly this family run pension is one of the best in Lebanon. Michel the owner is cool and courteous and also something of a fixer. Rooms are clean and well equipped with tv's in all rooms. Clean showers and toilets.
Close to the bus station in Charles Helou Ave makes this convenient for other travel and central for nightlife in Rue Gourard and easy to get a service taxi to Hamra or walk to Monot St.
Recommended most highly.
Unique Quality: Watch the Phalange party (Kateeb) from one of the balconies.
For budget accomodation..there is Pension Al-Nazih - It's a family-run hostel. It is perfectly located near the downtown area, and very close to Monot. Its small but clean..the rooms have A/C. But, not all rooms have a bathroom, so you might have to share. You have rooms starting at 10 USD, but the better rooms (with a bathroom) are for 25 USD.
