Legs in Love
by themagiclake
Those feet that walked thousands miles together, they stop, time to time, to take a rest, hugging...and loving, because they can't live far from each other... hands in this picture are busy to in holding cappuccino mug's and eyes are busy in glazing, eh... and legs they hug, feet they touch, under the table... we can't stay without a physical touch, our feet they say: there is no second no matter how they look like up there those two...without being in touch, so people, don't think those two here they leave each other, because here we are under the table, the prove... living prove!
Everyone should see the Pigeon...
by maykal
Everyone should see the Pigeon Rocks from the corniche(the road to see and be seen on). In fact, walking along the whole corniche is a good way to spend a day, from St George's Hotel (or the remains of..) to the beach at Raouche. Actually, this part of Beirut reminded me of a classier version of Bournemouth (UK)! In the evening all the glamorous people parade and jog up and down here, so I fitted in very well with my flip-flops and very-worn trousers! Sitting in the sun getting sunburnt in March, and thinking about how cold it must have been back in Britain!
A Lone Boat...
by coceng
Looking over to The Mediterranean Sea along The Corniche.
Seeing this lone boat ricking in the sea...with nobody in it !
Wondered where the owner had been gone to ?
Well in a way I felt like the boat, feeling alone in The Middle East (although I knew a few people) with a small budget, my itineraries to get me going.
How long did my money lasted for this trip ?
The answer is you just have to trace my itineraries from Beirut to Cairo !
Lebanese Food: Man'ouche
by miso80
Zaatar (Thyme & sesame seeds), Gibnee (Cheese - Halloumi or Mozarella), Vegetables or a mix...The manouche, mankouche or manqouche is the Lebanese pizza!!
The dough is made up of flour, yeast, sugar..and it can be topped with:
- thym, sesame seeds and olive oil
- Cheese (according to choice)
- Cocktail (which is usually a mix of cheese & zaatar (half of the rounded piece of dough has cheese, the other has zaatar, when it is folded in half, you get a taste of both!
- Vegetables (this is less common)
- Kishek ( a form of dried yoghurt that is mixed with onions and other ingredients) ..i know it sounds weird, but some people simply LOVE it..and there are others who don't..so ;)
- meat (but this has a different name..it is called lahm bi ajeen = meat and bread.
Although the ingredients are quite simple..believe me the taste is delicious!! I have so many non-lebanese friends who have fallen in love with it, that they've tried to find bakeries in their countries that make it..and others who've tried to make it at home. BUT..believe me, if you're in lebanon, try it..and you're realise, not everyone can make it the same way ;)

I've listed a website below that has recipes for manoushes and pictures of different manoushes so you can have a clearer idea of what it is, and how its made!
Bsharreh region

Catch the famous Cedar trees that adorn Lebanons flags AKA Cedars of the Lord in the Bsharreh Region (North Lebanon)
The Cedar forest in Bsharreh contains about 375 trees, some up to 2000 years old. They stand on slopes 6000 ft high in the shadow of the 10000 ft peak of Qernet Es-sawda (the highest in Lebanon).
Solomons temple was built from these trees, and Pharoes built their sunships, while the greek used its wood for their temples.
