SOFITEL LE GABRIEL BEYROUTH: Good Location and Friendly Staff
Satisfaction:

Stayed 2 1/2 weeks. The hotel is not a mega hotel with a variety of bars and restaurants but it is a well maintained 4 star business hotel with a friendly staff. My room was a little above average in size with lots of storage space. The bathrooms are nice but not lavish. One odd thing is the shower doesn't have a curtain. It has a plexiglass partition that blocks off half the tub. As a result when you shower you get the floors wet. I never saw anything like it. The staff is friendly and get to know you quickly. The dining room is good but not great. The breakfast buffet is pretty skimpy for US$16/day. The hotel cable TV is good with several English movie and sitcom channels. Dubai One also has a lot of English language TV as do some of the other international channels. I would recommend the hotel it has a good location near various cafes and restaurants. The business center has internet for US$8/hour. I did not have a computer with me so I think they have WiFi but am not sure.
Well I am only here for 24 hours, but let’s see what we can find out.
The hotel is in the centre of Beirut (in the financial and business area) as soon as you walk in you realise that this is a very personal hotel. For a start the reception is small and comfortable, the staff are very helpful.
My room is really a treat, not the standard corporate room but rather somewhere that you can relax and unwind. The level of cleanliness is "spotless" and despite the recent problems life goes on and you are well looked after.
All the standard facilities are here pool, gym, etc.
However, the most outstanding feature must be the fact that when you arrive at the hotel you feel that you could be in Paris. The street and Hotel remind me of hotels I have stayed in France.
