Eddé Sands: Luxurious Beach Resort in Byblos

Located just south of the archaeological area of Byblos, the recently completed Eddé Sands Hotel & Wellness Resort is bringing Byblos back on the glamour map. The beautiful resort contains a hotel (regular rooms and individual bungalows on the beach), private beach, large swimming pool, international restaurants, clubs, spa, etc. It is a one stop shop for anyone looking for beach, culture and relaxation all in one. Staying here also facilitates the exploration of northern Lebanon, which is all within a 30 minute drive from Byblos. I have not stayed here, but attended a wedding reception in Sep 2010. It was enough to persuade me to consider staying at this resort on a future trip to Lebanon.

Byblos-sur-mer: Once upon a time... the best in Byblos?

Byblos-sur-Mer is a landmark in Byblos. The hotel is located at the northern end of the harbour, with unobstructed views of the port, the Mediterranean and the northern beaches. In the glorious pre-war days of the 60's, Byblos-sur-Mer may have had much more glamour with celebrities likely seen there. Its nominal connection to Hotel Byblos in Saint-Tropez is a faint indication (Byblos also has a restaurant named Saint-Tropez). However, in recent years the hotel had become a little rundown. Thankfully, when I visited in Dec 2009, the hotel was undergoing a much-needed renovation, probably in time for the return of Byblos as a hot destination in Lebanon, especially with the opening of the luxurious Eddé Sands Resort nearby. Note that I did not stay here, but simply stopped by.

Byblos Comfort Hotel: Nice hotel in Byblos

We stayed in Byblos Comfort Hotel in May-June 2009 and we are very satisfied. The hotel is in the heart of the city, but still very quiet. It's in walking distance from everything you want to see or to do. Rooms are very clean and are cleaned everyday. We paid 70,- USD/day for a double room with breakfast. Staff is very helpful. Just an e-mail for a reservation and Mr. Chamas will do the rest, including possible transfer to/from the airport. Highly recommended.

Byblos Sur Mer: Great View, Perfect Location

Quaint hotel located right at the port of Byblos. Historic building converted into a lovely hotel. Room were comfortable and had amazing views. Great pool and sea swimming area. The location is to die for especially if you are there during the summer, they have a fabulous music festival at the Port with world renowned entertainers. And the location is in walking distance to the Byblos archeology site as well as the Souks and several fabulous resturants.

The staff is exceptional and very kind. I had accidentally left some souvenirs at the hotel and went back (passing back thru Lebanon on my way home over 1 week later) and they were still there “waiting for me”!
