Al Wusta Tourism Motel: Only for Extreme Travellers
It was very unwise to make our overnight stop in Hayma on the way from UAE to Salalah.
We did realize it too late.
Anyway... We drove into Hayma around 10 pm and first went to Hayma Motel (the only place we read about in the internet). Reception staff told us it was full (100% occupancy in low season, wow!!!). We asked them about any other hotel/motel/whatever, and they directed us to that gorgeous place.
Al Wusta Tourism Motel had one floor, few rooms, and Pakistani fellow near the entrance. It was a guy working in the tire shop next door, friend of motel's watchman who was absent that night. He showed 3 different rooms which made us think about much more hygienic alternative - our car.
Finally we took a risk, paid OMR10 and occupied the most adequate room out of those offered. It was a very memorable experience. I don't think somebody cleaned that room even once, it was an ABSOLUTE HYGIENIC HELL.
Conclusion: it is better to stop over in Nizwa or drive all the way to Salalah (changing shifts).
Unique Quality: There was a full spectrum of those beautiful things: dirt, dust, horrible stink, thick black coat on water taps, cockroaches etc.
