Marina Hotel
Marina Hotel is a two star budget/mid-range hotel in the Mutrah area of Muscat. It has a nice bedroom with a bathroom. The price was 25 rials (68 USD) for a double bed room. The location on the left side of the harbour is nice and the view from the hotel is good. Non-smoking rooms are on the upper floors and smoking rooms are on the lower floors of the hotel. I was at the hotel, but I didn't stay here. I can recommend this place.

Mutrah value
This has to be one of the best value options in Muscat and it right next to the water along the Corniche. The restaurant has some of the best views in town and is worth a stop for a meal.
The rooms were clean and modern for the most part (I arrived here from Yemen).
Unique Quality: The Restraurant while not cheap has an excellent view of the city and fresh fish possibly due to being located across the street from the fish market.

Corniche Great
Opposite the fish market, with great rooms and a fantastic restaurant overlooking the harbor, this is by far the best option in the souq area. Evening time provides amazing views of the surrounding mountains and souq. My favorite.
