1 hr transit time?

by mala1978

Hi,
I will be flying with husband and 2 years child from london to inda stopping at doha.
My return flight has just 1 hour transit time.
What happens if the flight from india arrives later than the scheduled time to doha ? Will I not miss the connecting flight to london?

Your replies will be much useful.

Thanks
mala

I assume you fly with Qatar Airways on on through ticket.

Qatar Airways are amazing with short transfers (I think minimum transfer is 20 minutes) and they manage to transfer your luggage too. I will have a 40 minutes transfer next month.

In the rare case that your inbound flight is so much delayed that you miss your outbound flight, Qatar Airways will put you on the next available flight to your final destination and take care of you.

Yes you are correct if your original flight is delayed there is certainly the possibility that your connecting flight may leave without you. If your airline ticket has been booked as a roundtrip, and not two one ways on different airlines then your airline would be responsible for your connecting flight. Whether that means continuing on with another airline, an over night stay to continue on the next day, your airline should take care of the arrangements for you.

If it's one ticket (not separate London > Doha and Doha > India tickets) then airline is responsible to take care of it - if you miss the connecting flight, airline should provide you a seat on the next flight and a hotel room to stay overnight if needed.

It's also quite possible that you'll make it to the connecting flight, but your luggage won't... It will be delivered to the address you provide as soon as it arrives though.

Mala its responsibility of airlines to put on next flight to London if the windows of 1 hour close.

Many airlines will give you layover if they make you miss your flight.

I will only advise to get in touch with your airline and pose questions to them.

I hope you have lovely trip to India.

Doha airport is rather small... I've travelled through there numerous times, and mostly with only about 45min transit time. My luggage made it every time.

Travel Tips for Doha

Smoking Room...

by imran8852

After eight hours flight all the smokers that board the same flight rushed to the smoking room for as many puffs as they can before continuing the journey...we are no exceptions! No matter how smoky the room was! The smoking room could use more ventilation renovation though as it can be very smoky! Nothing Special...it's just a stop over.

Alcohols

by shala_booo

Beers, wines and other alcoholic drinks can only be found at bars located at hotels. There are stiff fines for consuming alcohols other than on licensed premises, or at home (if you have a liquor permit).
Drink-driving is a serious offense and the country applies zero tolerance attitude to drugs.
No establishments serve alcohols during the days of Ramadan.

I'm Sailing!!

by bpwillet

If you take a trip out to Palm Tree Island you may have the opportunity to rent one of their 2 person sail boats. They are quite fun to spend your time on the bay. Every now and again there will be other sailing trips you can take if you prefer to be more of a passenger. There are a few boats in the harbor which cater to tourists and give trips.

The Giant Shopping Cart

by jungles about Hyatt Plaza

What a testament to this country's love for shopping. This gigantic shopping cart (or trolley, or buggy, depending on where you're from) stands proudly in front of the Hyatt Plaza shopping mall. The mall has the usual shops you'd expect to find in a mall, as well as a food court (try the Yum Yum Tree), an indoor amusement park for kids called The Jungle Zone, and a large grocery store with cheaper prices than others around town.

This is one of five malls in Doha, all of which are pretty popular places for the locals to hang out. The others are City Centre (the most popular), Centrepoint (the newest), Landmark, and another which is just called The Mall, as it's the oldest and so for a time was the only mall in Doha.
