    The Ritz Carlton is a wonderful resort hotel in Doha. One of the best with the Four Seasons. The lobby is stunning, as well as the rooms, which are confortable, oversized and well decorated. Each detail is according to the Ritz Carlton Style. Staff attitude is of course lovely. The pool area is really nice, and there is also a private marina. The hotel has its own private beach but it was not that impressive and there was nobody going there, maybe because it was too hot and it was much nicer sunbathing by the huge pool. The hotel has several food outlet.

    Of course this is a Ritz Carlton, which means quality and luxury. You get what you pay for... I was little disappointed about the beach, which was not so nice. The pool area was outstanding. I know that the Ritz Carlton company is now building one more Ritz Carlton Resort there... Let's see! I prefer the Ritz Carlton in Dubai rather than the one in Doha after all.

    We got an update to a suite through our Belgian friend who was very well known by the manager of the hotel. One of the staff members brought us to the room but when he opened the door, there was a party going on in the room!!!. Then we went to another suite but the smell of perfume inside that room was unbearable, so we decided to take a lower class room in which we felt much more comfortable. Doha is fast growing and a lot of hotels (including the R.C.) are best suited to business travellers and to a great deal of expacts, rather than to tourists. The hotel confirmed us by e-mail there was a beach, but the so called beach was a small strech of sand. It's not the place to be for families with children. The staff was friendly but not very helpfull, because the lack of training. All in all, the hotel was new and nice but what it realy lacked was atmosphere and character. If you want to go to the Middle East for a wonderfull holiday in a fantastic hotel (and even cheaper) give Doha a miss and go to Dubai or Oman.

    The garden with several pools was very beautifull. There was a splendid marina next to the hotel but I never saw more than ten boats, what means that watersport is practically nihil. There are four/five restaurants, Porcini is a very good Italian restaurant with good service.
