Al Bilad Hotel is located on the northern Corniche, opposite the Red Sea. It has 40 garden bungalows with individual balconies/terraces set in the heart of a tropical park and the main building, with 154 guest rooms. It has beautifully landscaped tropical gardens and terraces, with swimming pools and water fountains set into them. There are the usual facilities - business centre, car rental, gift shop, flower/art shop, barber shop, internet cafe, tennis/squash courts, swimming pools, gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi. Food is either a la carte or buffet, with a mixture of arabic, western and asian cuisine at : Al Maha Restaurant, La Terrace, Falcon Cafe' and Albilad Gardens Diving In Red Sea
3 min. to the Beach & 15 min. to downtown Al Bilad is popular on weekends with ex-pats coming up from Riyadh for diving, as Al Bilad's private beach is one of the best snorkelling/diving spots in Jeddah. The Friday brunch buffet is legendary among the ex-pat community. It has 3 rooms full of food, imagine 40 different types of dessert - no kidding!!! The Jeddah Hilton is located on the fashionable North Corniche, and therefore has some amazing views of the city and the Red Sea. When entering the 414-bedroom hotel you look up and see the roof about 20 storeys above you, there are palms, fountains, waterfalls and scenery lighting all located inside downstairs. All the rooms have bright tasteful color schemes, with one glass front and a private balcony. There is an Executive floor lounge, three Royal suites, 29 luxurious suites, four restaurants (Persian, American Diner, Roof-Top, Coffee Shop), a Vienna Café and 24 hours room service. The usual facilites: business center, shopping arcade, mosque, covered car park for 500 cars, indoor/outdoor swimming pools, gymnasium, sauna, tennis/squash courts, bowling club, private beach club access and a Red Sea diving center.
The Vienna Cafe has the biggest ice cream sundaes I've seen in Saudi! And some really yummy cakes. We sometimes go there for afternoon tea during the week, and wander down the corniche afterwards.
