Le Meridien Hotel

I ended up choosing Le Méridien when I finally was sent to Jeddah on my own. I chose Le Méridien becaúse it's part of the SPG brand and it is fairly decently located close to the shopping and commercial areas in Jeddah. The hotel itself is well equipped but old (not as old as the Sheraton). The room I was given, a suite, had a large bed and sitting area, although with the usual amenities associated with hotels in the Mid East. In truth, despite the sleek design of the common areas, there is little that is noteworthy about this hotel. The staff is reasonably friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean, and the rooms are comfortable without offering anything especially remarkable.

Unique Quality: The view from the lounge is quite nice, although there is not much to enjoy in Jeddah's skyline. As well, the pool that is part of the hotel's fitness facilities is quite enjoyable, although it is men's only. The hotel's location along Madinah Munawwara Road is also convenient, as it allows you easy access to the main attractions.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and I can say, that it offers all that you can ask for:

* Tennis courts
* Full-size outdoor pool
* Marvellous buffet-style-breakfast

Directions: Strategically located along Al Medinah Road and only 15 minutes from King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Le Jeddah Meridien lies in a residential area, in the heart of the main business and shopping districts.
