"Express" Umrah !

by tiskand

If I only have 4 nights that I can spend in Saudi Arabia, can I perform the Umrah within that time period and also be able to stay in Makkah and Madinah? If so, what is recommended, 2 nights in each city or 3 nights in Makkah and 1 night in Madinah ?

salam alekoum

you can do Umrah . it,s take no more 2-3 hours per time .
for how many nights , it,s depend on your arrive city but you must be aware that it take about 6-8 hours between Mecca and Medinah .
it,s good to start from Madinah stay 1 night and go next day or over night to Mecca and stay there 3 nights .

hope this help you inshaa allah .

Travel Tips for Mecca

Of course every Muslim's goal...

by atharo2000

Of course every Muslim's goal is to perform hajj in the city, but you could also go to Medina and visit the Prophet's mosque. My fondest memory of Mecca is standing in line to pray toward the kabah, with millions of other people, who are equal in their simple white garments.

The place where great things happened!

by Muarrij

The Kaabah in Makkah is one of the most spectacular places in the world.

Not just from the spiritual aspect, but when you see so many millions of people , all in sync and all there for one reason your mind just cant handle it.

Its not unusual to breakdon when you first see this place. Its truely moving. There is a saying that once you visit the Kaabah your soul will want to return time and time again. There is just something amazing about this place that makes you want to come again and again.

You feel at peace with yourself and the world when you are in the Harem. It is indeed a unique sanctuary.

I miss the Kaabah, like the deserts miss the rain.

The birth place of the Prophet Muhammed PBUH

by Muarrij

The Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), the last prophet, was born in Makkah in the year 570 CE.

The place where the Prophet was born is now marked by a disused library. There are no signs to express this historic sight.

To be frank I was a little dissappointed to see how run down the building was. But after talking to some people I learnt that if the government make it too nice and label it, some people may end up praying here, or to the site. This would clearly be against all tradition and in fact would be "Shirk" or "polytheism".

Where it all began

by Digi

Jabal al Noor or the Mountain of Light is where Muhammed recieved the first revelation from God through Gabriel. When driving to Mecca it is easy to see, it stands like an eagle watching over the holy city. It is possible to make the trek up to the cave where Muhammed actually recieved the revelation, and stand outside it which is a pretty amazing moment.
