Several mid-19th Century homes have been combined into this 16-room boutique hotel. All the rooms are decorated differently--My room had inlaid furniture in elaborate designs, velvet curtains, and a chandelier. Other rooms had brass beds or carved wood furniture.
The bathroom contained a robe and slippers, a makeup mirror, a heated towel rack, and towels with crocheted borders. The hotel has free internet.
Some rooms are upstairs (no elevator) Others are ground level, off the lobby, the breakfast room or the bar. Floors are stone tile with painted designs (& the bedroom floors are heated.)
Unique Quality: The hotel has character and charm, and the service is great. I loved it.
Directions: In old Damascus, not far from the East Gate.
