AMASRA CEYLIN OTEL: AMASRA NEW HOTEL
I STAYED AT THE HOTEL A WEEK. IT IS A FAMILY BUSINESS. OWNER IS HALIL AND HAVA IS SO KIND, HELPFULL. YOU WILL FEEL YOURSELF YOU ARE AT HOME. THEY HAVE JUST OPEN. HOTEL HAS AMAZING VIEW.
I CERTAINLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. EVEN YOU STAY AT YHE OTHER HOTEL, COME AND VISIT AND SEE THE VIEW.
AMASRA'S BIGGEST PROBLEM IS PARKING. BUT THIS HOTEL HAS 22 PARKING SPOT. THAT IS GREAT.
Unique Quality: GREAT VIEWS, LCD TV, 24 HOUR HOT WATER, PARKING, SUITES ARE AMAZING, HAIR DRYER, INTERNET, BLACK SEA VIEW, MOUNTAIN VIEW

Buyuk Liman Hotel: Another ocean view on the balcony
another nice hotel where i DID NOT stay but for the location i recommend it. it's along the turgut isik cadessi - the bigger bay where you could swim, and each room is facing the ocean with a balcony so you'll get a pretty view of the ocean although it's located on the far right end facing the ocean, seaside restaurants are very near and about 10 minutes walk to the dolmush parking.
the pink building looks nice.

Ozgun Hotel: beside the bay
i did not stay at this hotel but i went in and waited for hours as they say one room facing the bay on the ground floor or first will be available by 12nn, but unfortunately it wasn't.
but for location i would recommend it, it's a nice one and if u can have a room on the top floors, the view of the bay is really nice and it's right at the town centre. TL40 for single room with breakfast, the staff though seemed to me (at least) not very friendly.. i did not say they're rude, juz not very friendly. but i may be wrong because i did not stay there in the first place. it's juz an opinion based on a 10 minute inquiry... and waiting.

kusna pension: a room with a refreshing view
i arrived in amasra at 7am and i wandered around town before finding a place to stay. at 10am i saw Ozgun Hotel, i said it's right for me almost in front of the nice bay and within the town centre but they don't have availability when they asked me to wait until 12, so i headed to kusna pension which i saw earlier in the day when i passed by it while roaming around the area. it's on the hilly side within the castle premise (or what remains of the castle walls). i never regretted it though as the room commanded a beautiful refreshing view of the ocean and mountains and standing few meters from my window looking at the ocean i felt like i'm (or my room) is actually floating on the water. nice to stare at the window during the day and listen to the waves hitting the rocks, the sounds of the wind blowing on the leaves of the trees and the cold breeze caressing ur face during the evening. very quiet area as the town centre is on the other side down below. no tv juz clean comfortable bed, small closet, toilet shower, who needs a tv though with such a nice view.
the lady at the pension is friendly though does not speak english but managed to make me comfortable. i think the couple beside my room and me are the only people in the pension that time as we are the only ones at the breakfast table the following morning. i stayed for 1 night and left around 10pm the following day trying to catch the midnight bus to istanbul, paid TL50 for the first night and TL40 for the second day (not night) with breakfast.
Unique Quality: i would recommend it for the view at your window and the ocean below which is only a few steps of stairs down from the pension where u can see the small island in the mid. no swimming though as the water below the pension is rocky and has lots of rubbish, saw a mattress thrown there, i wish they clean this area - it won't be that hard am sure - as it is a good place to have a picnic or even take a dip in the cold water.
takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the town centre.

Sahil Motel (Cakraz): So close to sea, so friendly personnel
When we decided to go to Amasra, we were advised to stay in Cakraz. It was because my friends knew that I'd be willing to swim and Cakraz is a smaller town (15-20 min. drive from Amasra) with a long sandy beach. We found our hotel on the net. The receptionist and the waiters at the restaurant were very friendly and we did enjoy our two-night stay.
Unique Quality: The rooms were clean and they had air-con. I wouldn't advise a room without air-con if you are in Amasra in summer. It is quite humid and there are mosquitos so you'd definitely want a room with air-con so you can have a good night's sleep, away from the humid weather & mosquitos outside.
They have a nice restaurant and offer fresh fish. Plus, they serve to the beach:)

Kusna Pansiyon: Cheap room with million-dollar views
At less than US$20, this was the cheapest accommodation I had, but the view from my room was worth millions. The pansiyon consists of 6 bedrooms four of which face the quieter side of Amasra's bay. Mine was on the ground floor, but that did not prevent me from enjoying an awesome view of the Black Sea (Karadeniz).
What's more, the owner, Mehmet Dogu and his wife will take care of you like their long lost relative. Their youngest son (I'm so terrible with lesser known Turkish names), already knows how to take care of guests, even. He'll take you to the rocks below (be careful, though; the rocks are sharp) for an angling adventure. Unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish.
The pansiyon itself is impeccable - crisp linens, and clean bathrooms. Couldn't ask for more. Mehmet is planning an expansion, and I hope they get to maintain the same homey atmosphere that I relished so much.
Unique Quality: The killer views; the hosts' warm hospitality. The breakfast, too, was superb.

Büyük Liman Otel: Where to stay in Amasra Turkiye
The Büyük Liman Otel is right on the beach of Amasra's bay. You get balconies overlooking the bay for only around $25 per night (week night in April). Breakfast included. Very clean and comfortable. They don't seem to have a web site, but you can call them (0.378) 315 39 00. Its address is Kum Mah. Turgut Isik Caddessi, Amasra/BARTIN.

Kusna Pansiyon: Idyllic location
Kusna Pansyion seems brand-spanking new, but its real appeal
is its idyllic location. You essentially look down upon your
own private inlet with the waves crashing against the rocks,
with the Black Sea before you, and with a long stone's throw to
your left an uninhabited (by humans) island, chock-a-block
with birds chirping 24/7. You even have your own private beach,
admittedly rocky but nonetheless, with some effort, perfectly
usable for sunbathing and maybe even fishing. The beach is
easily accessible through a series of steps leading down
to it, where there is also a working garden and a small
fishing shack inhabited by an eccentric Turk.
Unique Quality: The pansiyon itself has six rooms, each with its own full
bath and, being brand-new or close to it, everything works.
There are two floors, with three rooms on each floor.
We thought the nicest room was room six, on the top and
on the right as you face the beach. It had windows facing
both the beach and on the right-side, thus giving the
possibility of a cross-breeze. On the other hand, below
that right-side window is the pansiyon's patio, so it's
possible that there might be noise from the patio from other
guests if you were unlucky. In that case, the upstairs
room on the left (I think it was number 5) could be better;
it doesn't have a side window, but it does have the windows
facing the beach, and could be quieter. The upper floor
also has a balcony looking out over the beach; presumably
everyone in the pansiyon would have access to it, but it
is easier to get to from the upper floor.
