I really cannot say that I was impressed with this hotel. The service sucked from the time we arrived until the time we left. I do not understand how a five star hotel can only provide one star treatment to its guests and get away with it.
I never managed to get inside, but the staff have a nice garden restaurant so I suppose the inside must be as good.
It's on a really steep hill, but not the top.
It is close to the Sheraton and the difference is architectural style is striking
The Hilton is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at, and, compared to large hotels in Ankara it isn't that much more expensive - if you happen to have a Hilton Honors card...
Large clean room, plus a marble bathroom which really awed me.
Breakfast is served in a wide open space taking up an entire floor, overlooking palm trees in the atrium(?)and there is a huge buffet ranging from western to more Turkish items.
The staff is very friendly and really, really helpful.
Good rooms, food, bar, breakfast. Ridiculously overpriced, but it's the only place I know in Ankara and I have stayed there a number of times on business. Perhaps the most up-scale hotel in Ankara, located in the fashionable Cankaya district, just down the road from the President's house. American presidents stay at the Hilton when visiting, to give you an idea.
Stay at the Ankara Hilton. The entire staff speak both Turkish and english. The price is modest and the hotel is first class, there is even a small casino located in the bottom of the hotel. A Olympic size pool is loctated above the first floor. While we were at the main bar on the first floor, a actual live harp player played music whlie we discussed the days events which were unforgetable.
About $70 U.S. depending on the current Lira rate.
