Anyone know of any fun places to hang out (day or evening) in Alanya before and after Christmas 2005? I'm staying in a central hotel and don't have any plans but thought I might visit the Bristol bar (is it still gay/mixed?).
I'm hoping to get onto the beach, but maybe that's optimistic? Would like to hire two wheels if possible.

well during the christmas time compared with summer alanya will not be so attractive for you,but on the other hand this does not mean that you can not have fun in a specific place.My suggestion will be;just walk along the harbour and select one of the nice discos over there like bistro,robin hood etc..
there is a nice bar we go to having a christmas party and chrismas dinner, you can also stay in the hotel for the night, for a small charge.. the place is good fun and the guys that run it a great people... this is their first year and they are doing well,,
now let me try and tell you where it is........
there is a mulitcultural/multi religous mosque on the front across from cleopatra beach, it is a few streets before you get to megros supermarket.
if you walk up the street thye mosque is on you will see the "CRAZY BAR"..
at the moment it has a canvis cover round it.
hope you find it as you wil have a great time there and im sure they will be able to put you in touch with the any gays that are around......

The Harbour is beatiful. There are a lots of activities. If you want to take a trip to west Alanya or just a Cruise at the area around Alanya there are hunderds boats to choose from, the prices is almost the same because they don't want any competitions.
But when it comes to attract people to their boats there is a competition! =)
Around the Kale district you will see old houses like this. They look like they are falling apart but people do still live there!
This house was located just as we started our climb up the rocky hillside. A local woman came out and offered us a drink made of orange and pomegranite. I was a bit wary to take it but I did. Tasted good and was cold(could have been dodgy ice cubes) but after she put out her hand requesting money! Too bad!
