Sightseeing Around Alanya

Folks, I am thinking of spending some time there, and I'd like to know what half-day or day trips I might make from Alanya, preferably to some ancient ruins...
Any piece of advice is welcome!

Hi Maria,
You can go to Side, Perge or Aspendos, it's not far away from Alanya and you'll find ancient ruins there, or go to Pamukkale for all day trip. My advice is don't travel with travel office from hotel where you'll stay but choose an offer from the office somewhere in the city, there are many of them, they are much cheaper and the standard is the same.

ALANYA BOAT TRIP

Its funny coz every time i visit Turkey i have to try the local boat trip but this one has to rate as the best. On this trip the boat took us to the first swimm stop which was below the famous fortress. the owner of the boat said that anyone who was feeling adventurous could go with him, well my kids decided to volunteer me. There was about 10 of us who dived off the boat and headed for the rocks, then came a little rock climbing up to a very small cave, at this point i was thinking how the bloody hell are we going to get down. Next was a little bit of pot holing through the cliffs untill i could see daylight on the other side, when we reached the other side my worst fears came true, the only way down to the boat which had met us on the other side was to jump off this cliff which was 50ft high in to the water below hahahahaha. Well after 15 mins of trying to pluck up enough guts to jump i finally did it, and i came down like a sack of sh#t hahahaha. What a buzz i got from that trip.

Not much is known about the site except that it was of Hellinistic origin and to be truthful not much remains but if you fancy a trip out and have a jeep because the last 2 km of road are poor,then you'll see a rock tomb.Opposite this are some steps in the rock which take you up to the site.Only the corner pillars of the temple still stand with others strewn around.
