In Alanya has Mediterranean climate. Winter months are mild and rainy and the summer months are very hot and dry. Through the mountains in the East, North and West the cold winds from the interior will be broken so it is possible to bath in the sea for over 8 month and to cultivate tropical fruits and cultivated plants.
You'll see 2 main beaches in Alanya, seperated into an Eastern and Western part. The Western Beach of Alanya is named after Queen Cleopatra of Egypt and, stretches for several kilometers from city's center. It's sandy, pleasant and more secluded than the other town beach on the eastern side. It is likely to be crowded with German and Scandinavian beer bellies in high summer.
For inexplicable reasons the Eastern Beach has several names and is therefore normally only referred to as the Eastern Beach, East of the headland and, going on for 22 km/13.7 miles toward Anamur. We beach-timed at Eastern Aquarium Beach at the time ... mostly with smooth stones in the sea.
You pay for 2 sunbeds & 1 sunshade about 4 Euro at both beaches. There is no need to reserve or order these in advance. As a guest on the beach you just lie down on a sunbed and shortly after a ”beach-boy” will come to collect your payment.
Neither of the beaches are the cleanest in the world ...
