Why is it that the guys that run the boats trips lie?
They seem to a right bunch of con men, "come to my boat, trip last one hour", they say. Urm not quite an hour I had 40 minutes and when challenged tell yet more lies, take care, be wary!

We went to the harbour for a trip and it was a rip off they wanted 45 tl for day trip as we have just found out a corparation gets a cut of your money so like before you could just go down to harbour and jump on a boat you cany now so if anyones reading this be sure to book it through an operature but shop around and make sure you get what your asking for.Because we got our trip cheaper we had to pay to get in the waterfalls.
But saying that the best trip we had was on a small fishing boat for 3 hours for 10tlthey even threw in the beers and it was fantastic.
If you want to grab a quick snack there are always simit vendors available selling fresh simit and Turkish pide bread. Simit by the way is the Turkish version of the pretzel, who knows, what came first the simit or the pretzel? Great bread.
The Alanya Fortress, which is positioned 820 ft. (250 meters) over the town, is definately worth the trek up to the summit. And yet the winding road up to the top can be quite enjoyable in it's own rite, providing many wonderful views of Alanya and the harbor. There are also numerous cafes to stop off at and grab a drink or a bite to eat, as well as many shops selling various trinkets, clothing, and souvenirs. Walking up will usually take about an hour, and while a pleasant walk for most people, some will find it very hard on your feet and knees. If you prefer not to walk and do not have a rental car, it's only a 10 minute taxi ride up. Then you can decide whether to walk back down or not, which is much easier to do then going up! :)
